We met friends there that we've all been super busy and have missed hanging out with. I checked out things on the buffet first by taking a sampling plate first. Things that looked good and that I took tiny portions of. I really liked the coconut shrimp because the shrimp tasted like they had been fried in tempura first then cooked in a creamy coconut sauce. I liked the seafood souffle. Made with the imitation krab meat but it was still very tasty. The egg rolls were grease bombs. The spring rolls were better. Crab Rangoons were OK. They had lots of seafood items, tons of peel and eat shrimp. Sushi... Raw items for the hibachi station. They even had crawfish but they were swimming in a greasy butter sauce... Which did nothing for me. If I'm going to risk the mess they are then I want them to be spicy.
I think the food was hit and miss. So maybe ⭐⭐ and the service was a ⭐ but the other issues were definitely what distracted stars.
I broke a portion of a tooth on a fried shrimp. That part didn't make my day. I definitely stayed away from them after that and will probably never try them again.
The second worst part was the waitresses kept dropping hints that they thought the four of us had been hanging out too long. The dropped off our check, took plates too soon, and stopped filling water refills.
I wish there was a way to split the amount of stars. Because the manager seemed very nice as we were paying at the end, didn't mind that we were there a few hours but we wanted to catch up. Takes time to do that.
I suggest that if you go yourself, go at lunch. We were there at lunch but it was a Sunday so the buffet was over $11 each. It came to $54 for the 4 of us altogether. But I was full when we left and the company was...
Read moreIf you like Seafood this place is an infinite food glitch. From scallops to shrimp to salmon to clams to even frog legs, they have almost every seafood you can think of and they all taste spectacularly. Of course they also have rice and vegetables, but I'd say seafood is the backbone of their menu. If you don't like seafood, however, there are still American options like fried chicken, fries, apple pie, and various sweets. They do also have a Mongoliam grill and a Sushi Bar for that full Asian immersion experience. To-Go meals are paid after getting food. Cost is based on how much your container weighs. Costs about $10 for medium meals and $20-23 for a full container
The servers/cashiers/workers are very much bilingual and you should have little to no difficulty conversing with them. They are polite and also fast at all they do.
The area it is located is...not the best but the owner(s) really make the best lf their situation because the inside is simply gorgeous. They also have a mini meeting area you can book separate from the main restaurant. The place is shaped like a giant circle with the register at the bottom part of the circle, the food at the top of the circle, and the people/seated customers dotted around the rim...
Read moreMy week isn't complete without a visit to Hong Kong Buffet! It's a great place to grab a quick, filling work lunch or a leisurely visit with friends and family. There's something for almost everyone!
Start off with one of their hot soups or choose from an array of fried appetizers, like eggrolls, cream cheese wontons, and chicken skewers. They also feature a salad bar and a sushi bar with several different types of sashimi and rolls to sample, along with pickled ginger, wasabi and seafood salad.
Then, choose from a wide selection of entrees, including popular favorites like sesame chicken, vegetable lo mein noodles, Mongolian beef, and black bean chicken. If you're having the dinner buffet, they serve seafood dishes like coconut shrimp and crayfish.
You can also select your own ingredients from their raw bar and have a personal dish prepared hot and fresh. They offer a variety of sauces to choose from, so you can experience a new flavor every visit.
Lastly, they offer several kinds of desserts and hard ice cream flavors you can scoop yourself. But my favorites are the sesame-honey nuts and tiny squares of...
