Top Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot.
Dinners are "All You Can Eat." The laminated menu is chock full of options, vegetables, meats, seafood, fish, appetizers....
For the unfamiliar, how it works.
You can opt for the BBQ or Hot Pot or BOTH.
With the BBQ option, your selections of meats (as many as you want) are brought to the table, raw. There is a heated domed griddle in the center of the table, and butter is supplied for cooking the meat, yes, by YOU, to your liking. The veggies are also brought out and can be sautéed on the griddle as well.
Well, what about seasonings? Not to worry! There is an open counter (think salad bar) with fresh seasonings-a-plenty! Hot peppers, crushed garlic, crushed peanut, sauces (teriyaki, soy...) chili oil.... Get what you want and season your plate to your liking.
The Hot Pot option starts with the selection of brooth bases, which are brought out in bowls that are heated by induction on a "burner" on the table. As with the BBQ option, you select from a vast assortment of proteins and vegetables that once received, you add to the pot and cook in the brooth. Also, as with the BBQ, the seasonings from the bar are your choice and preference to create your own flavors.
As the process does consume a bit of time, there is a 2 hour time limit for your table visit. It is also an experience that is best shared with others.
Morgan, our waitress and the manager, were wonderful, checked in our party frequently, and made sure everything was going smoothly.
It was my first experience, and it...
Read moreHands down one of the best KAYCE places I've ever been to, and that includes Orange County, CA & the K-Town scene there. For Toledo, this is about as 5 star as it gets. Great ingredients, wide selection, excellent, fast service, (except during peak hours) which is to be expected. A shout out to Lucy & Hannah, they are both awesome servers and just bright stars in the restaurant/hospitality industry. Also, please people, stop complaining about the longer than usual wait times during peak hours, obviously it takes longer to serve everyone then. If you don't want to wait, then don't go. Problem solved. Stop ruining the pleasant atmosphere for the rest of us. Also, to those who get upset and complain that it's not American BBQ... Well, guess what, other countries have their own kind of BBQ and they serve Korean BBQ & "hot pot" style food here, not "ribs and chicken" slathered in Sweet Baby Ray's. Lord. Do your research before you go and STOP complaining. These people work hard to provide a good experience & they don't deserve your whining. Go to McDonald's drive-through & complain, don't do it here. Anyway, back to the positives; their boba tea selection is off the hook with some very refreshing choices and not bad at only $4.99/drink. Listen to the suggestions from the wait staff and show respect. Enjoy, it's absolutely delicious! - $35 AYCE = Insane deal for this type...
Read moreThe BBQ food was good, but the appetizers were bland. The appetizers were good for the toddlers, but none of the 4 adults at our table enjoyed them.
We did not like the combined plates for ingredients. Having one hot plate on the table made it difficult for us to cook our meals. We had to take turns cooking for the 4 adults as we all ordered different meats/veggies. Some of us didn't like spicey foods, so those foods went last.
Our server had to check on our appetizers multiple times and said our ticket got lost back in the kitchen. We had to ask for plates and utensils twice after our appetizers finally arrived. We had to take some from another table to serve out our food. We eventually got plates, napkins, silverware when our main meal was served. We never got drink refills. We asked for the check twice. She never came back for the payment, so we finally had to go up to the desk to pay and leave. We dined at 5:30 on a Monday night. Took 40 minutes just to get our appetizers. The waitress said they were short staffed and the manager wasn't working. When we left there was a line of people waiting to be seated. They were very clearly busy, but our dining experience was poor.
Drove half an hour to get here to celebrate a birthday. I would suggest this place if you have A LOT of extra time to spare, a couple people eating that all like the...
