The girl at the counter was very friendly but the food was only alright. Cheery service is fine but I don't go to a Chinese takeout restaurant to have a pleasant conversation, I go there for the food.
We got the roasted pork and vegetables with white rice, steamed dumplings, spring rolls and egg rolls (free with our $16 purchase) The best part was the main dish, thankfully, the vegetables were perfect and the pork was good, if a little too salty. The egg rolls were acceptable, crispy like they're supposed to be and fairly good size; the filling was oddly like paste, but the flavor was alright. The spring rolls were absolutely atrocious, soggy, bland and generally just bad. The dumplings were good, surprisingly so since we normally aren't fans of flour dumpling dough (I prefer rice dumpling wraps) Finally, and probably most damning, the rice had an odd off flavor, almost like plastic. I noticed this flavor very faintly in almost all of the dishes. I guess it could be the smell of their kitchen but I doubt it. Rice is a big deal for me and if a Chinese restaurant can't get that right, I sort of question the rest of their cuisine.
Price wise I'd say they're on par with most other joints. Standard issue coupons are on their menus ($15 free egg rolls, $30 free General Tso's Chicken, etc.) they also have combo plates for lunch ($1.00 more after a certain time).
Overall it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't suggest it to friends with all the other better choices...
Read moreWhat a magnificent experience this was for everyone involved. I truly didn't know the meaning of life until I had QQ. My party enjoyed the sesame chicken entree. It was comprised of succulent, tender, and well-cooked meat served with crisp broccoli. All of this deliciousness drenched in a mouthwatering brown-colored sauce that was to absolutely die for. Oh my good golly goodness, do NOT get me started on the crab rangoon. With its crunchy outer shelling and luscious, creamy filling, the crab rangoon gave me goosebumps as I inserted the work of art past my lips and into my mouth. And if that wasn't enough for you and you are an individual that lives on the edge, go ahead and try the egg rolls. These bad boys were stuffed with so much nourishment that after every bite I got down on my knees and thanked the Chinese food gods. Next in line on the menu was the heavenly chicken fried rice. The rice pellets wrapped my tongue in their warmth and tastiness, while the vegetables and chicken meshed together like the beautiful lullaby sung by majestic loons on the shores Lake Michigan.
The delivery was quicker than a jack rabbit on a Thursday afternoon in the middle of a cotton-pickin' snow blizzard. If "Bonerlicious" was a word, that is how I would describe this masterpiece they call "food" at QQ...
Read moreI was suprised to see as many low ratings on here! My family loves QQ, like we seriously get take out from there about once a week! Our favorite dish is their Beef with vegetables. The beef is always amazingly tender, I have never encountered one piece of beef that had any fat or chewyness to it, and like I said, we have ordered from them a whole lot! The veggies are always cooked perfectly, I like my broccoli to not be too mushy, but also not undercooked and they always cook it just right! We have ordered other meals from them too such as their kung pow chicken and sesame chicken, and those are also very good too. I also love their crab rangoon. You also cant beat their prices! It usually costs less ordering a 3 meals here then it costs to pickup a bunch of food from McDonalds. Especially if you get their lunch specials. They give you a huge quantity too, a lunch special beef and vegetables meal usually equals 2 meals for me. The staff has always been very nice. I usually order my takeout online and they have it ready by the time I get there. I cant say enough good...
