My son prides himself on finding and trying all the Italian restaurants in Ohio and Michigan. He has waited for over a year to try Sabatino's, it was his birthday choice. I would have given the restaurant a 5 star until we were informed after seating ordering drinks looking over the menu our waitress sheepishly came to my side and informed me that there would be a $1.50 per person added to our bill for bring in our own birthday cake for my autistic son. Are you kidding me?? Unless I missed it on your website I see nowhere does it say this is a NoNo to bring in your own cake, or subject to surcharge. I have had birthday celebrations at the Mancy's and many other fine dining restaurants and never experienced this. If it wasn't for my adult son with autism I probably would have relocated our party of 9 or ate the cake in the parking lot,I even brought my own paper plates, but the weather didn't permit so. If I missed it on the website I apologize. Our waitress was amazing, food was very good, atmosphere very nice. $280.00 later for our party which included a $1.50 per person surcharge. What if only 2 people ate cake would it have been only $3.00???? Not sure we will be back. Highly recommend it is added to the web-site must disclose the nature of the party and a surcharge will be added for bringing in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in an hour after service started and was amazed with how empty they were! I got a little worried! I ordered the lasagna and tomato basil soup. The soup was excellent, great balance of flavor and not overwhelming. The lasagna could use a bit of work, I have never seen a lasagna with boiled eggs it threw off the flavor and the sauce was a bit oily for my tastes. But when I ordered my desert, the tiramisu, I was BLOWN away, it was absolutely the best tiramisu I have ever had the pleasure to taste. The servers didn't really interact with guests as much as they could, but that has never really bothered me as I have worked as a waiter for a while and understand how hard it can be. I was especially glad to see one of the cooks washing their hands very often, and the restaurant over all is very clean, just a bit of scuffed paint here or there. Music made the perfect atmosphere and was at the perfect volume. I did not have the pleasure to speak with a manager as I never saw one during my stay, sadly, because I definitely wanted to compliment their restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to try some very good Italian food, and before I forget the bread was absolutely perfect, it is definitely house made and seasoned well. Great Job...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Wife and I moved shortly after this posting. We were in town and decided to head in on a Friday night. Staff was great, food was still as good as I remember and everything was perfect temperature this time! Shame we moved away from such a nice little place. Might be a regular stop from now on.
Great start to restaurant weekMy wife and I came in for their restaurant week menu. The place is small, so reservations are probably necessary. The staff was friendly and quite prompt on service.
We started with salads and bread which were both very good before the entrees. I got veal and beef meatballs in a bolognese sauce and my wife got shrimp Florentine. Both were very good and were the perfect portions for the price. We ended up ordering a tiramisu as a dessert which was also very good.
Overall a great experience, my only complaint would be that my pasta dish was a little cold when it came out, however it was so good that I overlooked it and didn't sent it back.
Wife and I plan on going there...
