Maybe I should've gotten the pizza is what I'll start out with. For one, they only do take out. That's fine by me- we're in a pandemic of course. But the fact that their online menu's prices aren't correct really irked me. Add a dollar to each menu item and those are the true prices. The fact that we've been in a pandemic for 12 months and they haven't updated their website with the correct prices was super annoying, since that's how most of you guys will check their menu and prices. They handed me a physical copy of the menu but who knows how long until that menu sitting in my drawer bothers me and I throw it away. If I only brought cash with me, I wouldn't have been able to pay for my order
The other weird thing- I like calzones, so I figured I'd order a few cheese calzones. Except, they weren't selling those at the time I called (5pm). They instead told me they're only serving broccoli, spinach, and meat calzones. What's weird here is how are you selling broccoli and spinach when you aren't selling cheese? Don't those calzones already have cheese in them? The point im trying to make is that it's a dead giveaway that they don't make their calzones fresh. Even DP Dough makes their calzones fresh. It's like telling your customers you're not able to sell cheeze pizza today but you are able to sell pepperoni. Regardless, the calzones were lukewarm and overall not very good.
I got eggplant parmigiana and it was so greasy that the grease was dripping out the container and onto the takeout bag. It had a quarter inch thick layer of cheese. It looked like something gordon ramsay would disgustingly take apart on kitchen nightmares. But truthfully, I actually liked it. Though the eggplant was soggy and that layer of cheese made the whole thing a bit too salty, it wasn't bad I'd actually get it again. It comes with shells or spaghetti. I asked for spaghetti and they gave me shells :(. Weirdly enough the pasta sauce was soo watery none of it stuck to the shells and was not very enjoyable.
Maybe I should get the pizza next time... I used to come here as a kid and loved the whole vibe of the restaurant. But now, it's clear they're cutting corners and I'd be willing to drive a little further to get willington pizza if it means slightly better quality (and accurate...
Read moreToo bad, so neighborhood orientated. Good menu & terrific specials Wait staff sometimes nice, sometimes not & they spend an awful lot of time chatting together out front. They look like they want something to do, but I'm sure they work hard. The cooks looked mad, or irritated. Starving, I stopped in for lunch. I'm not a meat-eater, but I really needed some energy, So I ordered 1/2 Cheeseburger Grinder. A typical sized bun TO- GO ** I couldn't open the bag handed to me just to take a peak cuz the wrapper was SOAKED IN GREASE & DRIPPING OUT! Yikes, I said. Very bright & shiny oil. The taste test. Well, I'm 66,. I've tried, cooked lots of burgers . I ordered it rare, but with CT health laws, waitstaff asked if me I would take med rare. Sure. The burger was that awful pre-formed & thawed mass . Med-rare? Nope. Very well done, so dry & you could almost see all the fillers in the meat. The burger laughed when I tried to get some moisture in it. Ordered a sodo I shouldn't have needed This down home establishment with it's outdated look does a great business with loyal customers. The hot crispy grinder role (after I wiped it down) was special- crisp outside & soft inside, the sweet red peppers were "little" sweet red peppers, lettuce sparce & limp The BEST - My special pain in the arse request came...

We would eat there until they messed an order up and then put them on the back burner (for sometimes more than a year). Patricia herself even admitted it was ridiculous, and gave me a $50 credit (which I never used). I was happy when the new owner kept the recipes and also had employees reading back phone orders (which they never use to do).
Well, we were in avoid mode when Willington Pizza Too decided to charge $12.75 for a side of sweet potato fries. The kids working there were polite, confirmed that was the correct price and yes that it was absurd. Let's give PT's another try I thought.
This was probably a record, 3 orders in 4 weeks and they messed up. The owner offered a credit, which I appreciate but I basically told him maybe I'll see him in a year or so. I get it, people are human and make mistakes and there are bigger problems in the world for sure. But we order pretty much the same thing the same way every time and I'm very clear when I order because of the regular issues.
So, back on the back burner they go...
