I don’t think a day would come when I would actually review first watch in this manner. My family and I have always went to first watch for either breakfast or brunch. Whenever we travel we always try to see if we can find a nearest first watch because we like eating there. Today was a breaking point for us because the service and experience we received here at the Tomball location actually left us feeling very uncomfortable and annoyed to say the least.
When we arrived there was a 20 minutes wait which was the norm for first watch, usually we don’t mind and after waiting we got seated and the server (Shawn) came and took our order with what we thought was a genuine smile. During our conversation with taking our order another table was also trying to get his attention and he rudely said “I’m busy right now I will get to you” and this should have hinted us that he has an attitude problem but I didn’t think much of it. Now after taking the order we waited for almost 40 minutes before the food came (again this is normal for first watch, we are already used to the wait). The food finally arrived but only 50% of the order came and the one that was served was also wrong, I asked him what happened and he acknowledged that it was wrong and looked at the other servers (from the kitchen I presumed) to find out what happened. I quickly told them not to bother that I can scoop out the things we didn’t want on the order. Now they apologized and left, and I was able to savage some of the food to at least get my kids started. When I went to eat mine again it was also wrong but I really couldn’t manage because I have intolerance to the ingredient that was scattered all over mine, again I signaled for Shawn and he came but I noticed with so much attitude in his demeanor when I told him that I can’t eat my food he immediately got annoyed and said “it’s not my fault” and stormed off with the food. At this point my husband who was quiet was very shocked and asked me what was the reason for that dude’s behavior and I said I’m not sure but we can ask him because that was unnecessary. You and your colleagues messed up and you’re still giving us so much attitude after our initial cooperation and at this point tension was high and we have lost our appetite and the rest of the order still hasn’t arrived.
My husband was annoyed and just wanted to speak to the manager to get a better understanding of what we had just experienced. Manager was very polite and apologized but the server was still speaking rudely from across saying “if the kitchen made the mistake why were we taking it out on him” which was not the case because I only calmly requested to get a new corrected order but I guess that was too much for the Genz. Such an untrained individual who lacked common customer service etiquette and probably not interested in the job he’s doing, what a shame.
And to the nosy woman at the table behind us who decided to rudely approach us because our “complaints” annoyed you and made you not to enjoy your meal. I was with my family just as much you were with yours and trying to shut us up for complaining for obvious reasons because you wanted to “enjoy your meal”. Next time you’re out in public mind your business and if you wanted to enjoy your meal you could have stayed back home and cooked. If I’m paying for a Service and I didn’t get that I will speak...
Read moreYes there is! I would like to share with you all the AMAZING experience I had today! First it started off with the male host (Sean or Shane- I’m bad with names) who greeted me and everyone else is a warm and genuine smile and greeting. I gave him some specifics (I wanted to sit next to an outlet to do some work on my computer) and I got just that. While I was waiting for my table, I had a pleasant exchange with David (who I now know is a manager) who was working as hard (if not harder) than the hardworking staff. As I continue to wait for my table, I noticed that each and every server had a smile on their face. Not the kind of smile that faded after they left their table, but the kind of smile that made you know that they love what they do and we’re happy to be at work. That made me even more excited! Once I was seated, I was greeted by my waitress Chelsea, who was just as warm and friendly as everyone else I had met. She gave me exceptionally great service, and made me feel like I was her only table. She explained some of the menu choices are asked about with great clarity. It was only after I complemented her great service to both her and David that I learned that she had only been there for two weeks!! That definitely says something about her amazing training and her already kind disposition! Based on my experience today, not only will I be back, but I will definitely bring friends with me. As I told Chelsea and David, my experience here today was one of the best service that I’ve ever received! (for context, I was a waitress for over 10 years before I went into the business/corporate world and I am a very...
Read moreFirst Watch - Tomball is one of our favorite places to visit on Saturday mornings. Their food is so fresh and delicious. Their coffee is so incredible as it pops with flavors every sip you take. I am confident my picky 4.5 year old, will not only eat their food but also get the nutrients she needs out of the all natural product used in each dish. Their brunch cocktails are delicious, try the bloody mary with the added million dollar bacon. Actually, dip the bacon in the cocktail; you wont be disappointed. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are literally amazingggggggg, i'm never disappointed when I order these. Recently, i tried a new dish called the truffle mushroom hash. If you love truffles and mushrooms, this dish was made for you. They cook the mushrooms, potatoes and eggs with truffle oil that has a very distinct but rich flavor, I would order again in a heart beat. The pumpkin pancakes are now one of my new fav dishes, and the Benedict's (especially the salmon for my fish lovers) is really really great. Props to the chefs and recipe creators. Also a huge shootout to the weight staff! I have met some truly incredible people who work here, where friendships were started just by fate. Talk about feeling right at home while dining out. You guys rock and my family will continue to enjoy breakfast and brunch at your...
