First of all, ask yourself…why would I take the time to write a review when there are so many other things I could be doing? It’s very simple, really. I just had a fantastic experience at JOHNNY G’S… and I would love for everyone to have the same! From the moment I walked in the door the young woman behind the counter was so welcoming and kind, it made me feel totally at home. I had just gone swimming, so I was very hungry…so I ordered the eggplant Parm and also the fettuccine Alfredo! I know, you’ll probably laugh when you hear that I ordered a diet root beer to go with it, but hey- to each his own! Anyways, both dishes were absolutely delicious! The eggplant Parm was so fresh, and the sauce was just right – not too sweet and not too salty. I’m pure Italian, so I know about sauce! The chef came out to ask how things were and I’m pretty sure the owner checked in on me as he walked by. Everyone was so nice-it’s the kind of place you just feel like family instantly. I’m not getting any kickbacks or anything for writing this and I don’t know anyone who works there, in case you’re wondering. I simply feel enthusiastic when I enjoy delicious food, and really outstanding service. Let’s face it, this day and age- people being warm and caring is such a blessing! Thank you to everyone...

Absolute money pit! I am in disbelief over the encounter I just had. I have ordered simple things from this place in the past. There is no doubt that the food is good. However, I just paid $27 for a shrimp scampi entrée only to have nothing but 6 pieces of shrimp in a tin and a small side salad delivered. No pasta, no rice, nothing. I thought for sure this must have been a mistake. I called Johnny G's to have it corrected. I was then transferred to the most condescending, sexist man I have spoken to in quite some time. He "informed" me that this is what the entrée is "sweetheart" and that he did not know what I wanted him to do about it. I am honestly seeing red! I obviously realize that shrimp scampi is shrimp cooked in white wine, butter, and garlic. I am also smart enough to realize that an entrée of shrimp scampi is never just the shrimp. It is typically accompanied with a healthy helping of pasta, or rice, or a at best a large salad especially if it is $27 at a pizzeria! I thought with covid-19 we should support local businesses' and that the money spent would be well worth it, but I will NEVER give another penny to this establishment. Hard...

I order from here all the time and I really enjoy their food. I looked online and saw that they had ricotta stuff crust pizza. My family was excited so we order a stuffed crust half plain half pepperoni pizza. I went in to pick up the pizza and when I got home my family noticed there was ham in the crust. Online on the menu it does not mention having ham. My family does not eat ham. I called the store and told the same person I had gotten the pizza from and he said that it does come with ham and I told him that we do not eat ham so the pizza will be wasted and all he said back was "next time ask for no ham". I was unaware it had ham in it so how would I know to ask for no ham if the menu does not even mention it having ham. And it is a shame that they are unwilling to fix my order or make me a new pizza. I should have kept the five dollars I tipped on my...

Decided to take the Can Am Ryker out for yesterday afternoon ride... The goal was to get the wheels rolling and fluids moving after a long stay at the Motorcycle Hospital for Warranty Repairs... Part of the mission was to get some pizza slices. The first stop was Johnny G's on Hooper Ave., Tom's River. Been here a few times.... Had a Plain slice and a Pepperoni Square slice. Both were delicious. While enjoying this portion of my lunch, decided to check out via Google for other spots that I haven't visited and found a place called Villagio Pizza. It's only 0.4 miles away heading towards Brick, NJ.
