I wish I could give zero stars. The McDonald’s at 2001 N Topeka Blvd, Topeka KS is, hands down, the most frustrating fast food experience I’ve endured—not just once, but over multiple visits. Despite knowing how service jobs operate (I work in one), I’ve been more than patient. I’ve let the small things slide, but today was the tipping point. Let me be clear: every single time I’ve ordered here, my meal has been wrong or incomplete. Missing chicken nuggets. Fries that barely fill half the box. Long waits despite pulling into designated spots as directed—once for 10 to 15 minutes. I tried giving them another chance, only to be shorted nuggets again. I'm not asking for extras—I’m asking for what I paid for. If I order a 6-piece, I expect 6. It’s not rocket science. Then there’s the time I went just for drinks—one coffee for me and a tea for my husband. He asked for no ice. You guessed it: they filled it with ice. How does one mess up a drink order that simple? And today… today was the most maddening of all. I ordered through the app, hoping to save time, and ended up trapped in a comedy of errors. I arrived, gave my code, received my coffee, and was told to pull forward. I waited. And waited. After 10 minutes passed and still no food, I went inside—only to be completely ignored while drive-thru orders were prioritized. I watched several cars get served before anyone even acknowledged me. Turns out, my food had been sitting right behind the window staff the whole time. Just sitting there. Nobody bothered to bring it out. I grabbed my food, tried to salvage what remained of my morning… and then the lid popped off my cold coffee and spilled all over me. Soaked. Left side drenched. Lid nowhere to be found. I went back inside, washed up, and had to explain three times what I needed before they finally handed me a new lid. I left furious, wet, and late for work. I had to go home and change clothes. Now I want to speak plainly and carefully about something that added to the frustration. The employees working today were Spanish-speaking—and I have absolutely no issue with that. But I couldn’t help but feel like, because I’m not Spanish-speaking myself, there was a lack of care or consideration given to me and my order. It’s hard not to feel invisible when you're clearly being overlooked while others are served. Whether it’s due to language barriers or indifference, it just reinforces the overall vibe of this location: no one seems to care if your order is correct, timely, or complete. Fast food shouldn’t be this hard. Mistakes happen, sure—but repeated mistakes, indifferent staff, and zero urgency make this place absolutely infuriating. Do yourself a favor: go...
Read moreAVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! In our car we had 4 people, with 4 meals, (one of the meal came with two fries) a tote of cookies and 4 drinks. I will say cheers the wonderful woman who took our order because we were accidently confusing her and being loud. We had just got done unloading the moving truck, my boyfriend and I are new topeka. It was around 9:30/10pm Sunday April 25th. So we put our order in the girl who took our payment at the first window was super nice and she read our ordered back to us and it was 100% correct the way she read it. This was highly impressive to us and honestly we wanted to give her a tip. She was fantastic!
We went to the second window. They give us our drinks and our order and told us that we needed to wait for the unsalted fries so we pull up and wait. Then they give us the fries. Well we started handing all our food out and realized we were missing all the other fries fo our order. So we pulled around to the second window and when the employee opened the window the first thing he said was did you play. And then we responded well yeah we got our food but we are missing 4 medium fries. So the employee was like let me get my manager and we said thank you manager comes back and we calmly explain everything and we were nice. He gave us the remaining fries and slammed the window in our faces which yes made us mad. It is just poor. Customer service. The person driving may have said a few choice words at this point.
Well then we park so we can hand out the food to everyone in the car (there was four of us, we were hungry and tired) and i take a sip of my drink and it was a sweet ice tea instead of unsweetened. And remember i said the girl who took ur order had everything correct. So this was very disappointing. Not only that but all of our fries were hard as rocks despite them being "freshly made" and fhe cookies were hard too.
I don't know if this was related to the poor quality food that we ate or if it was just cause it was a long stressful day but I was throwing up for a good 1 hour after eating only some of my mcdonalds food.
This garbage meal ended up costing us 45 dollars. None of us could eat all our food and after complaining the first time, and with the manager being so rude we really didn't want to complain a second time because we...
Read moreUpdate they messed up on my mail again I called Mary the manager and she hung up on me. That is an immediate fire. Have a good day Mary. My son and my daughter asked why there’s toilet paper all over the bathrooms with poop all over them I said because in certain countries they don’t flush their toilet paper down the toilet because they have weak water systems . You know down south somewhereIt’s getting to the point where almost every order is incorrect and it’s because you have people there that don’t speak English like every other McDonald’s yes and I mean by Mexicans are Spanish people whatever I know you pay them less so that’s why there’s more of people that can’t speak English at McDonald’s I don’t know how many times my food is wrong. It doesn’t matter how many times I call corporate this morning went through to get breakfast sandwiches because it’s very convenient to go to McDonald’s unfortunately because of the app it doesn’t matter if you ask for fresh food or not you don’t get what you ask for I am allergic to pickles. I don’t know how many times I have to ask them to give me sandwiches without pickles to the point to where I want to throw their sandwich in their face and teach them English. All The Americans are getting forced out of the McDonald’s because you can afford to pay other employees less. Sorry I’m gonna get to the point. I don’t like cold coffee. OK you have to be an absolute brainless spineless person to give somebody cold coffee at 7 AM. It’s getting to the point to where I’m gonna start contacting other officials on this because this is getting out of hand and it doesn’t matter which McDonald’s you go to . My son Son worked at McDonald’s and they worked him like a workhorse while other races got to stand around and talk on their phones and chitchat Till he was forced out and another person was hired that can’t speak English Go ahead and delete my comment. I will add...
