I went to Hanks on for my Mother's Day dinner. It's my favorite restaurant in the area. I was sitting next to another table with a woman and her son (about 17) she was being so rude to the staff. I noticed her as soon as she walked in because immediately she announced she was there to do a review, it seemed like she just wanted free food. She was quite the entertainment during my dinner. I have never seen anyone be so rude to the owners and workers. She laughed at them and told them they were stupid for not having a mother's day menus. And was acting rude because she was trying to order stuff off menu and they had no idea what she was talking about. She then started talking to my favorite waitress and was telling her that she didn't like "that lady over there" and points to the owner who is also the mom of the my favorite waitress. The waitress let her know it was her mother in hopes the woman would stop being negative, instead she insultes her by saying "apple doesn't fall far from the tree". I was appalled I wanted to step in but the waitress said don't bother, it's ok. Her son became embarrassed at his mom's constant ranting and negative behavior that he begged her "please can we go now". The lady went to the counter and demanded service and a cup and said we aren't staying. They told her she could leave and she started yelling and stormed off. I saw she made a review for one star. Trust me when I say that star reflects her own behavior and nohing on the establishment.
Try the mozzarella marinara! It's delicious and the chicken pícata. Sooo good.

Read moreI can't believe what just happened at this restaurant! I'm in tears on Mother's Day! Unbelievable. I always give great reviews. I've even ordered from this restaurant for all of the Torrance physicians I work for. It started as soon as I walked in. My son, and I weren't acknowledged. After the owner yelled at the extremely rude man at the register "we have customers ". Then he reacted. They sat us down, and we where left to decide. A woman came back to ask about my wine order. She had no idea what a "red blend" was. My son ordered a pink lemonade (mind you, he wanted to take me out to a nice dinner). The lemonade was great, and so where the garlic bread. However, when I asked for "Mother's Day Specials", the woman was lost for words. I soon found out that she was the "owner ". I was completely shocked. My 16yr old son saw that I started to cry, we just lost his big brother 💔. He kindly said "mom let's please go"? I didn't want to walk out without paying for his lemonade so we walked to the front, and asked then to please give a to go cup, and the check for the lemonade. He refused, and told us to leave. He knew I would be reviewing the restaurant, as I mentioned initially (because I review restaurants for a living). My son, and I left. This was the worse customer service, and restaurant environment I've ever been in. The food in the past was okay, over priced, and underdelivered. Please "Do not support this business...
Read more👎👎👎Went for dinner and it wasn't very busy at all, one server on the floor, a older lady, sat us (it took 20 minutes for us to get water???) nobody checked on us and we waited to order and get our food. nobody really stopped by our table for a while we ended up getting food that was really good (extremely expensive for such small portions) but service was non existence. got a cannoli ($10.99?)to go and it was burnt🔥?!!. totally disappointed in our meal, checked out reviews and pictures before we went and it wasn't what we expected. I don't suggest going here it's not worth your time or money for being so expensive. Not worth the trip, not worth a return I only seen our waitress three times and the place was not even busy. there were only three tables being waited on ...go to Gaetano's it's...
