Almost never answers phone. Maybe they aren't open on Mondays, but I JUST called on Sunday to place a Monday order. They refused, said to call back tomorrow. I checked opening time with the person, she confirmed they'd open at 11:30am. No one's there, phone message box is full, the family member doing the pickup said the place was dark.
We loved this place, but the service is not good. They have a huge menu and often half the stuff isn't being served and/or it's reserved for dinner/weekends/whatever. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is that I quite like the food and staff when I can actually be there in person and they actually make what I ask for. It's like being in a terrible relationship you know you should end, and I sadly think I'll just have to walk away from this place. I've tried ordering out several times, and non-communication feels like they simply don't want customers. Good...
Read moreThis Japanese restaurant is very popular in Torrance. When we visited in the evening, there were always many customers waiting outside to be seated. A variety of Japanese foods such as udon noodle, sushi, tempura, and skewers are served here, as well as alcohol. It should be considered a Japanese izakaya! There are many combinations on the menu. The dinner portions were definitely generous. The taste was decent (but not top-notch), and it was basically worth the price! The environment of the restaurant is nice. Although there are many people, the seats are still comfortable, and the waiters' service is efficient. I saw that many customers were parents with their children. It should be because this place is suitable for...
Read moreDefinitely a super special place. The fish karaage was delicious. I like eating the crispy finer bones too. Plenty for 6 of us! The spinach -which I usually skip, thinking it will be boring- was so tasty due to the black sesame paste. The octopus in the sunomono- how do they infuse so much depth of flavor? It tasted smoky, almost. My mom got an udon- my sister had a bite, which made her order one too. I tried the broth: so perfect!
The mackerel and sashimi were solid dishes as well
Wanted to try the ika appetizer but everyone was full from eating way more than usual. We will have to try it next time. It’s amazing how good food can elevate everyone’s mood and make us feel more bonded. Azusa was amazing. She’s one of those people whose work ethic and beautiful personality are so readily apparent.
Thank you for a great...
