First visit to this upscale Italian establishment, and I approached it with appropriately elevated expectations given the premium pricing. When you're paying this much, there's definitely a higher bar to clear.
Food 3/5 - The kitchen demonstrated solid technical execution across our order. We shared the Garganelli and Chicken Scarpariello, both delivering on flavor profiles you'd expect from an Italian steakhouse. However, the portion sizes were genuinely overwhelming - not in a celebratory way, but in that immediate "this is going to be a chore" realization. The Chicken Scarpariello especially seemed designed to feed a small family. While some diners might appreciate the generous approach, it actually detracted from the dining experience as we knew from the moment plates arrived that we'd be boxing most of it up. The food itself was flavorful and well-prepared. No digestion issues.
Service 3/5 - Mixed bag here. Our initial greeting felt perfunctory, and there was a notable delay before our server made his first appearance. Once he arrived, his menu knowledge was solid and he handled the specials explanation competently. The real issue emerged during our meal when he would disappear for extended periods - not because he was busy, but because he'd get caught up in lengthy conversations (easily 10+ minutes) with tables where he clearly knew the guests personally. This happened multiple times throughout our dinner, leaving us sitting waiting for checks, another rounds of drinks, etc. At this price point, that level of inattentiveness is particularly unacceptable. Credit where due: the person handling water service and table maintenance were consistently on point.
Ambiance 4/5 - They've created a comfortable dining environment here. Music selection and volume hit the sweet spot - present but not intrusive. The layout works well with appropriately spaced tables and an attractive small bar area upfront. No complaints on the atmosphere front.
Cleanliness 5/5 - Clean operation throughout. Bathroom was well-maintained, and the dining areas passed even the most critical inspection. Clear attention to detail in this department.
Parking 3/5 - Small lot behind the restaurant that was nearly at capacity on a Tuesday evening around 5pm. We managed to snag one of the last spots, but it could easily become problematic for unfamiliar visitors. Street parking exists, though availability varies. Be prepared to look around and give yourself some time to do that.
Value 2/5 - This is where things fall apart. While the meal wasn't objectively bad, it absolutely didn't justify the premium pricing. When your least expensive dry-aged strip steak runs about $70, the execution needs to be transcendent - and it simply wasn't. The oversized portions don't add value in my book; I'd much rather see them reduce both portion sizes and prices to create a more reasonable value proposition.
Overall 3/5 - Vittorio's delivers a competently executed dining experience that doesn't quite live up to its price point. Service was disappointing, and nothing was memorable enough to justify the premium either. For a special occasion with people who prioritize large portions, it might work, but there are better values in the local dining scene. I doubt I'll...
Read moreI went here for dinner w/a GF last wk and as soon as I walked in I realized I was here a couple yrs ago for a friend's surprise party [which was awesome by the way.] The food and drinks were all great as was the service and this time was no different. Actually, no, I take that back.... it was even way better!! It was a Tues night and empty prob since we're in the Covid era. Better for us though because the service was INSANELY fast and good. Our waiter, Anthony, was absolutely adorable. Just a really sweet guy that knew the menu inside out and took several photos for us when we asked - lol. There was another guy serving us as well and helping out who was so nice too, but unfortunately I didn't get his name or else I'd def give him a shout out too. They were both awesome.
We went there specifically for the grilled octopus and WOW was that worth it alone!! I'm a huge critic of grilled octopus because I love it and look for it all the time, but a lot of places that actually have it don't make it so great. It's hard to find, but here was 100% on point!! My friend and I both agreed it was like the best we ever had in our lives and really wanted another order of it, but had too much other food coming so we'll def go back for it. (Pls don't ever change it or take it off the menu!!!) We also got the raw oysters which were absolutely perfect, delish, fresh & exactly what they should be. Not fishy at all, (that's gross), and served w/plenty of lemon, cocktail sauce, horseradish and hot sauce. I think also a mignon vinigrette sauce came w/it too if I remember right. Regardless, GET THEM! And for a 3rd appetizer we got the lump crab meat... OMG I have to honestly say it was also THE BEST lump crab cocktail we've ever had and that's another app I look for wherever I go. (Seafood lover here.) My friend said she's never had any crab cocktail that tasted anywhere near as good as it and we were literally arguing over what was the best - lol.
We shared a fish dinner... I forget if it was sea bass or which fish exactly, but it was good. I liked it, but my friend loved it. Nothing we had was bad. Even the drinks were slammin!!! Anthony brought us out samples prob because it was completely dead in there and he also knew we were ordering more so we got to taste them before we fully committed, but we don't expect that service again. It was just an extra special touch and totally appreciated. We ordered a couple drinks each and no complaints on anything. (Believe me though...I can usually complain about something - lol.)
It's only been like a week and a half and I already can't wait to go back here. We actually couldn't wait to come back here the second we left!... Vittorio's, please don't change those menu items you've got now and actually, don't change anything. It was...

Please Note* I did not get anything free to write this. I just wanted to share my honest thoughts and opinions.
Vittorio’s in Amityville, New York is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island — my absolute go‑to spot for authentic, delicious Italian food. Every time I dine here, I’m reminded why this place stands out among all the top Italian restaurants on Long Island.
If you ever get the pleasure of visiting Vittorio’s Restaurant & Wine Bar, I highly recommend trying the Chicken Scarpiello — it’s perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and truly one of the best dishes you’ll find anywhere. And if you go on a Sunday, do yourself a favor and order the Sunday Sauce Pasta with all the meats. Wow! It’s the kind of meal that makes you feel like you’re sitting at an Italian family table in the heart of Italy.
The service here is just as exceptional as the food. Our server and bartender, Theresa, was absolutely wonderful. I work late most nights and rarely get the chance to go out for dinner, but thanks to Theresa, we didn’t end up at the diner again. We arrived a little after 8 PM on a Sunday, right as the restaurant was winding down, and she still welcomed us with a smile and seated us without hesitation. Even though the staff was preparing to close, she never rushed us — instead, she made us feel completely at home. Which is pretty unheard of in 2025. I cant tell you how appreciative we are. It’s truly the little things like this that people remember. Other restaurant’s should take note
We started with our favorite appetizer, the fried calamari, which was crispy, tender, and cooked to perfection. Then came our entrées — rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Every bite reminded me why Vittorio’s Amityville is truly one of the best Italian dining experiences on Long Island.
What makes this restaurant even more special is the value. For a five‑star Italian restaurant, the portions are generous — you’ll almost always go home with enough for the next day (and maybe even the day after). The food, service, and atmosphere are worth every penny.
Vittorio’s is cozy, clean, and welcoming — a true gem on Broadway in Amityville, NY. You can taste the passion and care in every dish, and the staff treats you like family. There aren’t many restaurants left that combine outstanding customer service, authentic Italian cuisine, and a warm, inviting atmosphere quite like this one.
If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Thank you, Theresa and the entire Vittorio’s team, for another unforgettable dining experience. You’ve earned a...
