This is my first review ever online for food . I need to share this food experience so that someone else does not spend 50+ Dollars on dinner for the family that Could mostly end up on the trash . I will start with the good , Sweet and Sour sauce was very good . That was it . The deep fried chicken pieces for the S&S along with the Egg Rolls , Spring Roll and Fried Scallop Tasted as if the Fryer Oil was not changed or filtered in a long time . The Egg Rolls , all three of them were very greasy on the INSIDE . The Vegetable Dumplings were the largest I had ever seen , too bad most of the Dumpling was thick chewy dough hiding a small amount of vegetable filling . Beef with Mushroom was mostly bamboo chute and watercress with a small amount of mushroom , the Beef being thick pieces that seemed boiled were pale and clearly heavily dosed with some kind of tenderizer. The Lomein was way way too salty . The shrimp fried rice was undercooked or dried out rice with more raw chunks of onion than shrimp and even included a shrimp that still had the shell on it . The Quart of Wonton Soup while Free with my order was literally Cold to the touch with equally cold and hard wontons inside . I couldn't help but think it sat around all day from an order that maybe wasn't picked up because I have NEVER had soup be cold like that . ( this was less than 10 minutes from when they packed up my order and handed it to me) Now I know what your thinking , sounds like a review from a competing restaurant huh . Nope , it was just that bad and really disappointing. I am no expert critic by any means but do have a strong background in cooking and have eaten in many dozens of Chinese Restaurants from Chinatown NYC to Montauk . The staff while friendly, clearly care little about the quality of the food they serve the public and I doubt they would serve anything like this to their own family . I've developed a stomach ache (FROM JUST TASTING A BIT OF EVERYTHING )while writing this...
Read moreIf I could give them a -10 I would . They like they care about the customer until you complain . For the first time I called , with much respect and hoping they didn’t take offense to it, since they acted like very nice people . I asked if there pork fried rice was fresh because mine had a rancid smell and it was hard. He told me that business was slow and that they re-use rice from the day before . ( this rice was from no day before and if it was it was left out all day ) it had a rotten smell to it ! Frank the owner began to be very hostile and ended with telling me to go somewhere else . To be honest , This was the 3rd time food tasted funny but definitely the worst ! I am reviewing cause people need to watch where they eat and who they spend their money on ! They do not care about quality . This could have been simple solved with an apology and I didn’t get that . Shame on you frank ! Buissness isn’t slow , YOU BUISSNESS SLOW...
Read moreupdate I moved. And I miss Ching Hoi. A lot! I mean, this place is amazing. I ordered somewhat regularly...once or twice a month. I had to go on a diet for health related reasons and when I ordered again after a while, the owner showed up, said he was worried and wouldn't accept a tip! And...man, the food was amazing. Always! Ching Hoi, if you ever deliver to Pennsylvania, let me know! :)
This place has amazing food. Their delivery is extremely fast and they do take credit cards over the phone for delivery orders and accept tips via receipt upon delivery. I've gotten delivery multiple times and they are always super fast and the food is fresh and hot. To top it off, it's really excellent food. I usually get sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, cream cheese wantons (sweet, not overwhelmingly crablike at all, best I've had!), and pork fried rice. I...
