I Lived in the area for 3 years now. This was the 1st place I tried. Usually spending nothing less then $35 or $40. Food was okay, portions were okay, prices were above average, service was lethargic and they forgot a sandwich.. But hey, everyone makes mistakes. I didn't hold it against them and tried again the following weekend. Same outcome. This time I went back to get the order fixed out of frustration.. since then, 3 years later till now, I've frequented Poppy Seeds by Dollar tree. Never disappointed! Ask for a Sunnyside up sandwich, it comes CUT in half and Unbroken yolk with TWO eggs!! Everytime! Its like magic!.. well today impulsively, I walked in today around 7am and ordered two, bacon egg and cheeses with scrambled eggs on egg bagels and a small carton of orange juice. Waited maybe 8 min to order, food was pretty quick maybe another 6 min, everything displayed looked great and delicious. Price was just under $15. Not bad, but a tad high considering when I started eating, it wasn't until my 3 biteI remembered this is a BEC on a bagel. There had to be maybe 2 petite possibly 3 pieces of bacon, one slice of cheese that i only saw and tasted when I got to the "hole" in the bagel š.unfortunately my carton of orange juice was slightly open. I got some in my eye shaking it š. Still downed it though and it was delicious.there was also a slight layer of scrambled eggs maybe measuring 1/8th of an inch in thickness. If there was indeed TWO eggs scrambled on that sandwich, they must have been Cornish hen eggsš¤£š¤£ all in all, I ate the two Sandwiches, went home to make some grilled cheese š¤£š¤£. To cap it off, there was a sign to all customers by the register that was kinda off putting about the mask mandate. Which hey I was masked anyway but that mission statement that was about 4 paragraphs long was maybe over the top. But I would say they went from a 2.7 to about a 3.7 out of 10, from my last visit 3 years ago....Hey all in all, I most certainly see an improvement since then and I'm sure they can be even more of a competitor with Poppy Seeds in due time.. I do this often with bagel shops from Montauk to kew gardens, and it good to see improvement over time with Bagel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolute terrible experience. I called in an order for one sandwich(since Iām at work and get limited time for a lunch) which the girl on the phone told me 20 mins and that was fine hereās where the ridiculous issue comes in. I walk in and see a sign that says- grub hub, pre paid, and call in orders so I stand there instead of the line that is to the door. After standing there for a few mins someone finally approaches and asks my name I tell them and say I called it in, she asks if I paid and I said not yet. She tells me oh no then you have to wait on line. Let me get this straight you tell someone they have to wait 20 mins before theyāre sandwich will be ready but DONāT tell them they have to pay over the phone or else they would have to wait on another 20 min line as there already made sandwich sits there and you really think someone would want their sandwich that at that point would probably already be sitting there for at least 30 mins?! What is the point in taking call in orders if we have to wait the additional 20 mins anyway? At least tell your customers they have to pay over the phone as I would have. Needless to say I left there without my sandwich since I didnāt have time to stand there for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an horrible experience here I called my order in, went inside and walked up to the counter just to let them know that Iām here for a pick up order as you usually would at any other deli. There was only about three people in line who I assume had already been being helped so I simply waited at the counter when the lady came to the counter she asked who was being helped and when I said, I needed to pick up my order, she ignored me and did not say anything to me. Instead, she asked the guy next to me. Has he even helped and started to take his order I turned to the other people standing in the bagel shop and asked them am I tripping ? She then came back with an attitude and said next time if you wanna pay for it over the phone itāll be quicker so we donāt have to do it this way but when you come in to pick up an order, you have to wait in line like everybody else. Which I could understand that, but she should have told me that when I came up to the counter and told her that I was there for a pick up order instead of ignoring me and not saying anything to me and being so rude about it I definitely feel like this was race motivated because I am a brown woman. And Iām...
