I've been eating at this restaurant for many years now for take out and the other day my sister and I decided we would dine in for a nice sit down lunch. Well it was the worst experience and lunch I have ever eaten in Japanese food and I'm sorry I even recommended going there this day after dropping $56 for our check as well. To start off we order 2 appetizers which those were ok, my sister orders a drink and asks the waiter for ice on the side. He brings the glass of ice and asks her, "do you want we to put that drink in that ice?" Strange! She tells him "no I just would like to add it to my drink" I finish my appetizer before my sister so the waiter pulls my plate away from me, but as my sister is still eating, he goes to pull the plate from under her. And she looks up and he stops and walks away. Totally rude and rushing us as we are eating. My sister ordered a lunch hibachi and I ordered a 3 roll special. 1 spicy tuna, 1 spicy crab and 1 shrimp tempura roll. When the food comes out to us, my sisters food is good and as I start to try my rolls, the spicy crab roll kinda tastes weird and I didnt want to continue to eat it so I called the waiter over and asked if I could please change the one roll to a California roll. He said he would ask the chef. He said, it was not a problem. When he came back with my California roll, the new roll that the chef made me had NO cucumber in it. Now I've been eating California rolls everywhere including there and they have never made a more disgusting roll like the one he made me. So when I told the waiter he said that the chef was mad about it. I guess because I was not happy about my crab roll. My sister asked to speak to a manager and he came over and gave his pathetic story saying that this is how they make the California rolls there. I did not eat that roll neither and I was charged full price for my lunch. We will never go back. Horrible customer service and horrible...
Read moreI can’t believe the first time I try this overpriced hibachi location, I am not only disappointed in the quality, but found a large piece of plastic in my food, from biting it. I will be asking for a refund. I distinctly stated that my jaw has a plate in it and asked for my food to be cooked RARE so that I could eat it. I haven’t had a well-done steak, ever, but that must be what this is! I can’t chew into it and the quality of the “filet mignon” is that of stew meat. Even the fried rice was flavorless? And they gave me HALF CUPS of the hibachi sauce. The only edible thing was the vegetable mix, so as I’m eating it I was DISTURBED to find a piece of plastic, and a large one at that. Customer service was unreal. The girl wouldn’t make a hand roll for me when I arrived, as is customary, because hand rolls are not good if they have sat for even a minute. She did not care, and said I would have to wait fifteen minutes. Had she followed through with my request, I would have had something to eat on my birthday, but now I don’t, and DEFINITELY want my money back. The seaweed salad was so oily, I mean overall a disgusting disappointment of a meal. I would’ve typically gone all of the way to Mt Sinai for the hibachi restaurant that I am comparing this meal to, but considering the rain I gave them a try. The place I usually eat is not only much cheaper, and much faster, but much more professional and kind even on Mother’s Day when they were incredibly incomparably busy, but I will NEVER GO BACK HERE! It’s one thing to have ehhhh food, but plastic!?????? That means contamination. This is a pandemic, damnit!
WOW - there’s also food I didn’t order in this dish. Where is this scallop from? Lol NOT EATING THAT! Disgusting. Can’t even graze around...
Read moreForced tip after mediocre food and bad service. I had dinner here with 6 other people after making a reservation. We were asked to wait in the front of the restaurant for about 15 minutes before being seated. It was 15 degrees outside and every time someone opens the door you get a freezing wind. After being seating, I asked the server a question about one of the sauces and got a “yea yea yea” response before she walked away. The chef was great and friendly. The food was decent. One of our plates just suddenly cracked in half after the chef put hot food on it. They did replace the single dish which took about 10 minutes. We were charged full price for everything including a mandatory 18% tip. Honestly, with the service that we received, the only tip that was warranted was towards the chef. And that’s why I gave him $15 cash before he finished cooking. For our leftovers, we were given plastic tubs with no bags to put them in. They started cleaning the whole restaurant around us while we ate. They gave us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert or anything additional. Standing around us before we were even finished with our drinks. Rushing us out without saying anything, but making it clear that they wanted to close up. Even though we had a 730 reservation, it was now only 840 and they don’t close until 9.
I will not return here or recommend it to any of my friends or family based on a very poor experience I had on my first visit. There are many other restaurants within 10 minutes that would rather spend...
