Finally a GREAT diner in Rocky Point. Don't be fooled by the fact that it is a Diner on the outside because on the inside the food is that of a fine restaurant. Ted, the new owner, has turned this restaurant into a great to place to get excellent food. We have been there over a dozen times since they first opened a few months ago. Each time has been a great dining experience. The range of items from salads to fish to steak to the traditional greek fare is so diverse and delectable that you will leave full with the generous portions and hoping the meal will not end because it is that good. Nothing in the restaurant is frozen... everything is fresh daily...
The service is spot on and the inside is meticulously clean. All new tables, chairs, carpet, wall paper and yes the restrooms were redone. They are checked every 30 minutes to make sure that they are clean and stocked with the proper paper products.
Personally I have enjoyed the tremendous selection of salads Each one is a feast to behold. The greens are fresh, the dressing wonderful and the portions generous. I particularly enjoy the Salmon and Guacamole salad. The salmon was done to perfection, moist and tender. The portion was that of a regular salmon entree. My wife has enjoyed the traditional chefs salad as well as the 4 cheese panini. Also...if you are a corned beef rueben lover... try it... incredible.
I wish Ted and the staff the success that they deserve. They are working very hard to make this diner / restaurant an experience to remember and they value the customers and their loyalty.
We are hooked and will be a...
Read moreLet me tell you all about the best diner experience of my life. This place is hidden gem tucked away on in Rocky Point, and let me tell you, it's a MUST TRY for anyone in the area!
From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was transported to a classic diner scene from a movie . The red vinyl booths, the checkered floors, the chrome accents - it was pure nostalgia heaven But the real star of the show was our waitress, Olga! Olga was an absolute delight . She had the biggest smile and the friendliest demeanor, always checking in on us and refilling our coffees with a wink .
Now, onto the food! I ordered their signature patty melt , and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion in my mouth! The perfectly seasoned beef patty, the gooey melted cheese, the grilled onions - it was pure deliciousness The portion size was HUGE too, so I definitely got my money's worth . My friend got the chicken pot pie , and it came out bubbling hot and looked amazing! She said it tasted like her grandma's homemade recipe, with a flaky crust and a rich, flavorful filling . We ended our meal with a slice of their homemade apple pie , and it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! The warm apples were perfectly spiced, and the crust was flaky and buttery. It was like a warm hug on a plate â¤ď¸.
Overall, this diner gets 10 stars from me if that was even possible! The food was incredible, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was pure diner magic â¨. I will definitely be back soon, and I highly recommend everyone to check it out! You...
Read moreAlthough the young fellow who was our server was very nice, the food⌠not so much. My daughter ordered a steak with stuffed clams. The steak was decent for a diner. However, the clams⌠what she got was some sort of paste served in metal âshellsâ. I tasted it myself and it was the absolute worst excuse for stuffed clams I have ever tasted. Tasted more like some feta cheese and sour cream with a little sand mixed in to simulate a clamshell. We asked the server to replace the clams with a stuffed mushroom. He brought back two, burned (literally, black) mushrooms with the exact same stuffing! I made sure I tipped the server generously, since he had nothing to do with the food. I also made sure I paid my bill in full because I didnât want the cashier to think I was looking for something for nothing. Once I paid the $79 bill, I spoke with the woman. She was gracious and said I should have told her beforehand, etc.. I explained my position and brought her the mushrooms so she could see for herself. She offered me a dessert.. again I declined. All I wanted to do was bring to their attention what their cook was sending out as acceptable food for customers and perhaps make the necessary staff adjustments. In the end, I was just as annoyed with the âowner/managerâ who showed no interest in what was going on despite the fact our conversation was within six feet of where he was stuffing his face. As it turned out, this was my second experience there and the first was not good either. I wonât be returning. Thanks for...
