Dana's Diner — Restaurant in Town of Carmel

This place is a hidden gem - for two reasons.

First, the food is phenomenal for a place like this. The fried chicken was crispy without being greasy. The steak quesadilla was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Customer service was attentive.

Second, they seem like good folks. We were there on a really slow afternoon. The diner was nearly empty. We ordered, and I noticed on of the servers looked like she really didn't feel well. She sat at the bar for a few minutes until a guy came by, obviously a friend or family member, to take her home so she'd be more comfortable. The manager stepped out of the back, looked at them and said, "I really hope you feel better. Get some rest." And he said it with sincerity. I've worked in some places that didn't care if you were half dead - you were expected to finish your shift. And if I did have to go home, I was given crap about it. But I didn't get that sense here. I like to support businesses that treat their employees with respect, and I think this is one of those places. I'll be back for lunch...

Daniel's Diner suffers from a severe lack of professional Quality Service. I applaud the kids that work there but having to get up three times to get service, being served by a boy who was chewing gum loudly and with an open mouth, and getting our Foods quite a bit after it was cooked is not ideal.

The bird that we sat at initially was white but strangely shaped so that no one could look at each other and the Springs below the padding were broken so that it wasn't just not comfortable to sit at.

When we got the food it was mediocre. The eggs benedict with avocado and tomato were just okay. The french fries were excellence but everyone else complained that they felt like they were eating pre-packaged food. The hash browns were definitely purchased at a walmart.

The price of the food was about average the coffee was decent but I can't...

FABULOUS little diner with excellent service and great food! We were at a Farmer's Market nearby, and it was SO hot outside! We decided to find a place to get breakfast nearby, so I looked up diners, and this one was just a few minutes away. I also loved that it was a smaller local diner, so we decided to try it.

LOVED how friendly everyone was as soon as we walked in the door. I also loved that they had a crab cake benedict special, so I had to have it! It was delicious! The potatoes it came with were also delicious. I rarely finish those when I get breakfast, and I took all my leftovers home and ate them all later that day. SO GOOD! I would go back just for that. I can't wait to try some of their other food, as I have no doubt it will be...
