Stopped in for the first time today. Cool little place. Food was standard. Nothing over the top. Basic sandwich of chicken salad. Nothing extraordinary. I got a sandwich and two muffins and a coffee for 17 dollars. I think it was a bit pricey for what you get but I understand it is a small local business and did not have a problem supporting them with my purchase. I think what this place has going for it is its unique artifacts of yesteryears. One thing that I thought was a little tacky are the little notes around the store. First, the one at the front door saying it is rude to bring in food from outside sources and it is not allowed. I agree but if they need to put a handwritten sign up to enforce that, then there are issues with the regulars or whomever is doing that. But for a new customer to see that at the front door is tacky. Also, same deal inside. Puzzle table. No children climbing on the table. Understandable and I agree but who are the people doing this that often that the owner needs a sign?? I mean, who does this? Also, 1 refill on the coffee and I think it cannot be a take out cup. LOL!! Maybe I am wrong. Hard to remember but there was a sign referencing something about 1 refill. This turned me off and I mentioned the signs to the owner. I promised her I would only have 1 cup of coffee and not refill! LOL. The people that frequent this place often(regulars) must be doing this since I would think a person that does not frequent often would be doing this. Again, the owners should address these issues personally with the people do are doing this. To have little signs up around like that was not the best impression for a first time customer. Reevaluate your regulars and set them straight and that is it. No signs should be needed. Again, in short, nice little place but nothing 5 star as far a food or coffee. Just normal everyday food! Website says "A stranger when you arrive, A friend when you leave." Did not really feel that vibe. Had a little conversation with her friend there and sat then I sat down. When I left, nobody said thanks for coming in or even a goodbye. Hmmm. And a...
Read moreafter having what I considered to be one of the most stressful days of my life, when my car stopped working on the side of the highway, my friend Lily and I ended up here. Amy was a delight. She made our day, filled us with positive energy, and gave us some of the best coffee we’ve ever had in our lives. she turned what was a horrible day into something so awesome. When we were in there, there was a reporter who even heard us call the police on the side of the road. It was meant to be. Her coffee had ice cubes in it that were made out of coffee, and it really made our day. We will be coming back multiple times. Amy, thank you so much for making us have such a great day. Make sure you get her iced coffee and try...
Read moreThis stop was meant to be. My kids wanted to go to a breakfast place after a long drive, (we were on our way home early January this year) so I looked up a couple places that served breakfast and decided on this cozy little breakfast diner. Antiques lined the walls, mixed with local arts, crafts, soaps and niche items from local artists. A large chalkboard for guests to write on (and keep small children busy.) Coffee was delicious, food portions were very generous, and our server made effort to accommodate a very specific request from my 3.5yo who wanted three pancakes. I would highly recommend this breakfast/coffee house for those in or traveling near Binghamton NY area. (Kids were tired...
