It’s been a few years since I’ve dined in at Allan’s Falafel, and I have to say yesterday’s experience was disappointing. After being seated, the waitress was busy carrying on a long conversation with another table before realizing my table was waiting for her, this was the first matter I took issue with. Then another party came in and were seated and nobody took their order at all so they left. My waitress goes to another lady in the back and starts to ask her condescendingly why she didn’t serve that table and they began to debate this matter loudly enough for me to hear and disturb the conversation I was having at my table. Lastly, after finishing my meal and leaving. I was followed out the restaurant by a young server and she very loudly said she needed to make sure I paid. Stunned (because there was a party sitting outside and they were now looking at the situation and me like I was trying to dine and dash) I turn back to the girl and confirm with her that yes I indeed did pay and tip regretfully and showed her my CC charge. She then goes “okay well wait here while I go in and confirm”. She comes out a minute later apologizing and saying that I was right. I really didn’t want to write this review as my family and I have always had a great rapport with Allan and his wife, but the staff that he has in there now are genuinely making the dining experience un-enjoyable. While the food is great, the service is far from. I cannot see myself returning to hear staff arguments, pay a high tab, and then be subtly accused of not paying in front of other patrons due to a staff members...
Read moreSchwarma meat was dry and tough, kufta kebab( I mistakenly called this loukaniko in my original review) it had large chunks of cartilage or bone that hurt to bite down on. Pita was pretty stale and hard compared to what I'm used to. Expensive for food that's just mediocre. Last straw was being charged a "convenience fee" to order thru their own app / website. I understand this fee with a 3rd party but it's insulting and unnecessary when your own website suggests ordering online and then charges extra to do that. Got an email that my order was received but not confirmed, had to call and was told I missed the second email, even though I got the first. Insisted it was my fault. The last time we called an order in they forgot items so we thought there was less chance for error via app. I've been more satisfied from a street cart than this "restaurant".
Edit: The owners response is rude and dismissive, claiming I should remove my review because I misnamed their sausage / kebab, I thought it was loukaniko but its called kofta at their restaurant. Instead of offering an actual acknowledgement of a problem or a solution . Even more of a reason to steer clear. Terrible food and an unreasonable response to a legitimate review. I am also uploading a pic of the beginning of my receipt as proof of...
Read moreThe worse falafel I have ever had in my entire life. They may call it a falafel but I assure you it was crap. The falafel balls were disgusting. Some of the lettuce in my sandwich was old. The Tehran was spoiled and tasteless. I will never go back to that so called falafel store it's not a store. You have to stand outside and place the order. No over head to protect you from the inclement weather. You place the order then you have to come in like five minutes. I wouldn't suggest that store to my worst enemy. The whole sandwich was served on a flat bread, overall it tasted bitter and for sure it was not a nice experience. As I was eating it I was wondering if I was going to get sick or not. That store should be embarrassed to claim themselves to be a falafel store. Poison, poison, poison Last but not least the price is high and not worth it. The falafel store in Chester and although it's not as good as I would have liked, it a 100% better than the falafel in Warwick. If any place could destroy the meaning of falafel, warwick's falafel kiosk (a joke) would be the one...
