Not surprised by the reviews about service. I cannot believe the way we were treated there today, but after reading the other reviews, a bit less shocked. They have employees there that don't care and say and act however they want. I've been going there for a long time, always kind and patient with their slow service, I tip, and never an issue but today marks my last visit there! What happened: my mom is visiting and she ran in at 240pm (they close at 3) to order some bagels, woman in line in front of her did not want the 5 remaining plain bagels they had so at my mom's turn she says "I'll take those 5 last bagels" employee starts bagging my moms bagels and customer 1 says "I changed my mind, I want them" . Employee tells my mom "oh well, she wants them so she gets them, sorry" my mom says "she said she didn't eat them and I waited my turn, this seems unfair" my mom and customer 1 agree to "split the bagels" 2 and 3 so they each get some. THE EMPLOYEE TURNS TO MY MOM AND SAYS NO! then proceeds to give the other customers the 5 bagels FOR FREE. she says "know what? I want you to have them, on the house" my mom at this point was still not upset, but asked the employee why she did that. Employee tells my mom because she can and it's "tough" then tells my mom to leave if she doesn't like it. As my mom is walking out employee IS STILL yelling out at my mom about how she is rude and claps at my mom...CLAPS and says "happy new year, just get out". My mom left that place embarrassed and crying. When I called to speak to manager/owner she just said "I don't know what happened, but your mom couldn't be that embarrassed no one was in the store. The owner did say sorry nut it was followed by "I don't know what you want me to do about it" now, I certainly did lose my temper on the phone with them as I was livid at the behavior. I own a small business and I can tell you I'd never allow an employee to represent my business qith such entitlement and disdain. Read moreI recently visited Bagel Girls Cafe with high hopes for a good breakfast sandwich , but my experience was ruined by the rude customer service. The white woman at the register was absolutely dismissive. She barely acknowledged me and seemed irritated when I paid. In stark contrast, The white guy who took my order was also unfriendly—he didn’t say a word to me but, when it came to the white couple behind me, he suddenly became chatty, asking them how their day was going. I felt a clear difference in how I was treated compared to them, which was uncomfortable. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff, especially the white girl cashier and the white guy who took my order, was extremely disappointing. It’s hard to ignore the uncomfortable feeling of being treated unfairly, especially when it’s evident that the staff's behavior shifts based on race. Read moreI used to live in Chester and this was my family and I favorite bagel place. I live a distance away and when I get my nails done I will stop by. Today I was SO excited to get a bagel and I asked if they had Apple Pay and the woman who took my order said yes. Everyone seemed miserable. And when I went to check out I said can I use Apple Pay the guy had a toothpick in his mouth and was just not friendly. He handed the Apple Pay but it was not working. I told him it wasn’t working and he said “idk what to tell you” at that point I have my food and my drink and it is very awkward he’s not doing anything to help me and I’m telling him their Apple Pay is not working and he said it just was. He proceeds to tell me again “idk what to tell you”. I realized by looking at the machine you can type the numbers so I gave him the information and it worked.
