Gave this place 3 tries. Really wanted to make it work. I work nearby, and I've heard good things.
First time, I got to my last dumpling and it had something that wasn't food was stuck to it.
Second time, I got General Tso's and it was refried chicken. The breading was falling off, and the meat was grey and chewy. The rice was slimy and reheated, too. It wasnt fluffy or soft.
Third time, the Lo Mein was extremely greasy.
I just cant.
Edit to the business: The hour at which I choose to review, and what other establishments I review is immaterial. But if you must know, Google sent me a notification to review recent places I've been to, and that's what was in my queue. Feel free to check my history: I don't go out of my way to be negative. I've worked in restaurants, and am quite willing to give a place more than one try, as I'm aware that places have bad days.
And no, I didn't choose to personally confront you or your business. But I did spend money multiple times. I didn't and don't want special treatment "this time", I wanted what I paid for in the first place: food that was made for me when I ordered it, not chicken that was either fried twice or prepped too long ago. And calling to complain isn't about the money, it's the inconvenience of ordering dinner, driving home, and finding it to be sub-par.
After you work 10 or 12 hours, and finally get home to eat, do you want to drive back out to get a replacement for what you've already paid for? Or deal with it this time, and hope its better next time?
As a courtesy, I'll remove the speculation in my review of what I thought I saw or smelled in there, and instead stick...
Read moreI ordered online was able to pay at pick up in cash. Online ordering says to allow for twenty minutes for pickup. The food was hot and ready on time pick up was fast and easy. Though I will say this is my first time ordering and the signage out front no longer lights up, the light up menus inside are not functional, and the clutter of boxes and disarray is off putting. That being said the service was fast and the prices fair. Steady stream of customers indicated it is popular amongst locals. Portions were good size, however the quality was a bit lacking on some of the items. The crab Rangoon had very little crab or filling less than a tsp per Rangoon, I threw the majority of them away and this is typically one of my favorite appetizers. The house fried rice was lacking in shrimp, meat, and vegetables. Disappointing for $11.99 for quart. Orange chicken and fried rice was a large portion, some of the chicken was fatty and chewy. An egg roll did come with the entree which I did not realize and ordered two shrimp egg rolls. Tons of food for about $35 just wish the quality of some of the items was better. I would give 3 and 1/2 stars if that...
Read moreThere is not much to say here. It is a Chinese take-out restaurant, and they do a pretty darn good job of making a variety of dishes. I have never had a bad meal from here. The Chow Ho-fun is really good and not something that I usually see. Everything I have ever ordered has been delicious, and there has never been a single mistake made. There is only one other Chinese take-out restaurant I have been to that is on par with China Wongs quality and service. China Wong is a cut above.
My only complaint is that China Wong is noticeably much more expensive than any other Chinese take out place I have eaten at. It is so much more expensive that I don't go here anymore unless the other Chinese place in town is closed for the day and I don't want to go out to the buffet in the next town over. You get what you pay for, at least, but it's no...
