Tonight, 1/4/'25 was her (adult, late 40's-early 50's) second chance as my first experience here with the same employee/manager(?) was the same back in September. I thought it fair to give her the benefit of doubt in that perhaps she had a rough day. I was mistaken. (I do realize SW is more often independently owned)
Sub #1 was complete and in its bag after her blatant display of irritation because I asked her to toast the sandwich twice without the cheese on it, so the (extra) peppers and onions (only two toppings, that were added with a few dashes of bitterness) could cook, then again, a tgird time, with the cheese. Besides her, I was the only one in the store from start to finish.
Sub #2 Me, I like lettuce, tomatoes, (normal amount) and a LOT of onions on my Tuna fish sub. After she laid a few pieces of onion down the row, I politely asked for more, she begrudgingly added a few more, again we replayed that last scene. Request number three was slightly pleading, (though honestly) more whiney, can I please have some more, to which she snapped angrily, "I'm going to have to charge you!" What?!? "You have twice the limit... Nevermind, I'm not serving you, please leave!" Are you serious?! Think about it... "NO!" Please, hear me out. If I were to get all 10 of.... "Let me show you what you're entitled get" as she removes all of the onions from the sandwich then replaces it with what is probably the equivalent of two outer rings of a small-medium onion. I snarkily spouted, where is it written that you're limited?
"I'll show you", as she stomped off to gather her documentation, and I, for the first time in my adult life, walked out after ordering food.
I understand the cost of everything has increased substantially. It has hit all of us. What I would have liked the opportunity to share with her was more common sense, but y'all see how that went.
Being reactive as most of us tend to be, I have no idea what the actual allotment is, because I was completely disinterested and angry with her as she was unwilling to converse as an adult from the onset of our 'misunderstanding', further compounded by her utter lack of common sense.
If each sandwich is (hypothetically) allotted 8 ounces of veggies/toppings (they offer 10 different ones) and I only want 3. What difference does it make how we get to that 8 ounces. I didn't ask for fresh green peppers, which is probably the most expensive of the 10. I asked for onions.
Ironically, I will typically joke and say the extra onions are to keep people or evil spirits away from me, and it's often well received with a smile and a chuckle. I'm convinced onions are her proverbial "kriptonite".
FTR, it didn't stop me, I went to another one close by ; ) I have enjoyed SubWay since I was a teen, often frequented after work at 3am when my offspring were of school age, and I (grudgingly) mourned the discontinuation of their U Gouge. They may not be an import deli, but they're convenient and reasonable... There was a smiling face just down the road who was kind, friendly, and blessed with...
Read moreWorst experience ever!!!! This was my second time there and the man behind the counter was extremely rude and scary. I stated I wanted a veggie wrap and I started to let him know what I wanted in it, I first said the cheese, then then lettuce and I wasn’t sure what I wanted next on it so I asked if he was going to put the lettuce on he began to raise his voice saying” I will put it on when you tell me everything you want . I’m not your servant “. I couldn’t believe how angry he got! Not only was this so unprofessional, unnecessary, but also scary because I asked to see the manager ( no one else was in the store) he stated “ he was the manager “ I asked his name and he angrily replied “Reggie” which I didn’t believe. I was cashing out and said that I’ve never been treated so poorly before especially when all I was doing was trying to place a simple order, at this point he repeated everything I said in a strange manner. I told him that I wasn’t going to let this go and that you’re crazy, he then said that I was crazy. I was so glad to get out of there, but the experience was so awful and frightening! I’ll never go back again...
Read moreWhen I think of the perfect lunch a submarine sandwich always come to mind. Today was no exception. With a craving for a turkey sub and a chocolate milk, with out a doubt subway was the place to go. Well I was gravely mistaken.. upon arrival I requested to use the rest room, the response from the staff was they didn't have one. From there all I could think about is where do they go poo? Perhaps in the sandwich one could imagine. Or do they have a restroom and decline paying customers the privilege to use it. I had to eat my subway sandwhich with my dirty hard working hands. I then looked up some other reviews and watched multiple people walk out of the store with out food. The nail in the coffin is they were out of chocolate milk, or perhaps such as the restroom they held that out on me too. I'm hoping Subway corporate sees and decided to make some changes to Make Subway...
