Ted's Fish Fry — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Food was ok but white clientele SUCKS. Called order in so all would have 2 do is run in pay and go back home. When u walk n2 alcove b4 entering restaurant they have sign thanking 4 social distancing 6 fr apart. Of course left n95 mask at home. Then this 5 ft racist umba lumba kept telling me to move up. At first I ignored until he was less than a foot from me and called me a blackgirl when repeating his demand. I told him 3 times LEAVE ME ALONE WHITEBOY AND BACK UP FROM ME. Finally a blackman and they only man who didnt work there came 2 my rescue and told the whiteboy 2 respect women and not pick.a fight with me because then he's going 2 have 2 get into it. Thats when a male who worked there came from behind the counter ask what was problem told him called in order 4 pick up and socially distancing until can get up in line to advise. He asked name then told me my order was ready 5 minutes ago and go to front to pay. Hesitant at first cuz just finished yelling at a crazy old whiteboy now want me 2 cut the line infront of all those white ppl ahead of me? He assured they wont bother me cuz I'm telling u to get ur order. I thanked him cuz thats all i wanted to do. Teds should really think about have a placed order window for quick check out or assigning a number system once pay so order line moves quicker...

Just amazingly WOW. We were told by many locals that we wouldn't be disappointed, and damn, they were right! We wanted to try as much as we could, to really get a feel for the place, so we each had the combo platter, which came with fried fish, clam strips, shrimp, and scallops, as well as fries. Everything was cooked perfectly! My fiance doesn't like scallops, so I traded him my shrimp for his scallops (and felt I came out the winner in that deal.) There was plenty of fish, all flakey and tender and soooo good. The combo came with a steamed hot dog bun. I know that Ted's sells a "fish fry" which is fish in a bun I think... So I put a piece of fish on the bun, and it was fairly tasty.

The combo came with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and a sweet relish sauce. I did care for tartar sauce or sweet relish, so I passed on those. And honestly, while I love cocktail sauce, I didn't feel anything needed it or that anything would have been improved with it.

The only thing that wasn't too or tastes (or actually, too my fiance's tastes) was the coleslaw. I don't eat coleslaw in any fashion, but he said it actually tasted pretty bad.

The combo was expensive, but SOOOO worth every penny. We checked out other meals as people ordered, and I don't think I saw a single unappetizing plate come out.

Teds Fish Fry is a great seafood restaurant! My mom and I usually visit there once a month when we’re in the area ! Every thing has always been made fresh and hot except for the cole slaw we got on a few occasions smelled and tasted expired 😞. Were sorry we don’t like to complain about your restaurant but we thought we should bring it to your attention. , we’ve ordered the fish sandwich combo meal , delux bacon cheeseburger combo meal , mini crab cake combo meal. I’ve also had ordered the fish tacos 🌮 and loaded cheese fries all have been delicious 😋 I love the fish tacos I recently tried for the first time but I just wish Teds Fish Fry would offer customer’s the option of adding Mexican cheese and sour cream as an add on option! I took one of my soft fish tacos home and added sour cream and cheese and it made it taste even more delicious! I’d also recommend that you add a little more lettuce,tomatoes,onions.
