Had an unfortunate experience here on Saturday, 3/24/25. I'm leaving a review because my partner and I really feel like staff dropped the ball and made zero attempts to salvage our experience.
Partner ordered the vegetable risotto and communicated to the server in regards to a green bean allergy. The risotto does not list green beans, just mixed vegetables, but there are green beans all over the menu, so we felt it wise to be upfront and request. The server stated that it would not be a problem to ensure that no green beans would be in the dish.
The dish that was brought to our table was fairly heavy on the string beans, much to our chagrin. When we initially brought it to the servers attention, we collectively decided it was asparagus. Upon second inspection, it's clearly green beans, and the server swears under his breath. "Shit". Exactly, but, whether the kitchen messed up or FOH failed to notify the kitchen... IT DOESN'T MATTER. The staff goes hush and proceeds to mute the conversation they'd been having all evening and move themselves into the other dining room( we were the only table dining at this point) Staff also proceeds to avoid eye contact or make any kind of contact with us until we vocalize a need to leave hastily due to imminent gastrointestinal complications. This was where I started to feel my head spinning due to bad service and manipulation energy.
Bill was way too expensive for what we went through. The food was good but not good enough to be abused by staff.
Sorry it went...
Read moreFirst the good...we went for the first time on 7/4, we sat outside with a few other people. We had the scallop/leek app and we each had a mussel dish (different ones). All of that was excellent. The not as good...The homemade fries that came with were a little disappointing. We expected big/handcut fries, but these were more fast food type skinnies (not necessarily bad) but they were actually pretty greasy. The far from good...It took almost an hour to get a water and a Modelo Negra in hand. Not a big ask, no labor intensive witchcraft performed behind the bar. We had to ask different servers multiple times, eventually one came out with a water and the wrong beer-she disappeared and eventually made it back with the right one. We noticed every other table but ours had bread-did they run out? We went inside to pay the bill because we figured it was our only chance to make it out before the clock struck midnight (our reservation was at 6:30). Maybe there were 700 people inside that we didn't know about, and only 2 servers, but if that was so no explanation was made for the "service". We'll give it another go since the food was very good, and most people here are complimenting the service. Our experience was that this was the worst service we've ever experienced and we felt you should know. Hoping for a 180 flip next time.

Read moreI’ll admit—I was a little skeptical walking into Bistro Du Mexique. French and Mexican fusion? Sounded like someone threw a dart at two random countries and hoped for the best. But wow, they actually pulled it off. Everything was super well thought out and totally worked.
I ordered the steak frites and the burger, because why choose? Both were solid. The steak was cooked just right, the fries were crispy and seasoned well, and the burger had that juicy, messy, satisfying thing going on. I also had the jalapeño margarita, and it was exactly what I hoped it’d be—spicy, citrusy, and strong enough to let you know it showed up.
Everything came out fast and fresh, which I always appreciate. The vibe is laid-back but stylish, like they know they’re doing something different and cool but aren’t trying too hard about it. I’m glad I gave it a shot. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something a little unexpected that still hits all the...
