Crumbl — Restaurant in Town of De Witt

Maybe it was because I had waited so long for the clay NY location to open and got carried away by the hype. The cookies are... forgettable. Chocolate chip cookie was very pale and shoulda been baked a bit longer. Not the " crispy on the edge/gooey in the center" type that they advertised but " pulled too soon from the oven". Chocolate peanut butter cookie was baked better but still ...unremarkable flavor. The buttercream dollop on the waffle cookie was the best thing I tasted, followed by the fake maple syrup that it was served with. Music was so loud I couldn't hear the person at the counter and she had the same issue- neither of us were mumbling. It was akin to ordering a drink at a bar with live music.

I dunno, maybe if we didn't have any outstanding bakeries in the area, this would have been acceptable. After all, they are open later than the independent bakeries around and that's certainly a plus. But I wonder if Crumbl HQ had any idea what they were up against in terms of competition - I can drive 20 minutes from Crumbl on a Saturday and find at least 6 independent bakeries that have higher quality cookies that don't cost nearly as much ( I know there are more, but the fact that I could name 6 in my head without a pause is saying something). I feel bad for the folks who work there because they were by and large very friendly, helpful and kind. But I can't see them lasting very long at this location unless the quality improves enough that not only does it deserve it's price point, but holds its own with the local bakeries, which.... Crumble cookie Dewitt

Placed an order yesterday at 10 am for 6 cookies . Placed the order for a 5pm pick up . At five i told the app im here . It told me to go inside and i was 6 th in line . I waited for 15 minutes my name was never called .. checked my app again and i had been kicked out of line . Again i checked it and it said i was 10th in line . This happened two more times each time moving me back in line . I tried once to talk to an employee and she said wait your turn im busy … okay so i wait a few more minutes at this point people who have walked in after me have gotten their cookies and left . Again i tried to talk to the employee and explain what was going on . She refused to listen to me and kept talking over me loudly saying what’s your name mam over and over with out listening to what i was trying to tell her . So i give her my name she rudely says I’m in the line up laughs and walks away … so i give it ten more minutes before i try to signal her again and explain. At this point she comes over and says we’re busy wait your turn . Well it’s been 45 minutes and i ordered for pick up 6 hours before . I finally asked to talk to a manager who was nice but offered no real apologies or compensation for my wait . I asked to talk to the owner and he told the manager - send her the corporate email and be done . Soooo crumble cookie for the amount of money you charge for your cookies and that experience i am very much done with...

Although I've heard many wonderful things, that was NOT my experience. I have to preface this review with I haven't tasted the cookies yet. I went into the store and put my order in and did not receive a receipt. I waited patiently for my order. At least 10 people, a couple that were there when I arrived and the others arriving while I was waiting, received their order before mine. I went to the counter and inquired about my order. I gave the clerk my name and he went to check. He never came back to update me about my order. After a few more minutes, another worker came and asked me for my last name. After a few more minutes, she brought my order and one of the cookies was wrong. I waited again and she brought my order out and opened the box and the Pink Velvet was not pink. I asked about that, and she said the mixer was not mixing it PINK!!! What??? Ok. She closed the box that had raspberry jelly smeared on the front of the box and on the top and the other side. The napkin holder was empty, so I asked for a napkin to wipe it off. She left and went to find napkins. Because I was waiting for so long, I just left and decided to clean the box when I got home. There was no, sorry, about your order, or sorry it took so long, or sorry, your box is messy.... I will not be...
