Pavone's Pizza & Eatery — Restaurant in Town of De Witt

Do NOT order from here! I would vote zero stars if I could. We ordered 2 pizzas and a 2-liter through the Slice app around 6:15pm. According to the updates on the app, it was supposed to arrive by 7:30pm. By 8:30, it was still "in delivery". We called the restaurant, and they apologized and said it would arrive in about ten minutes. At 9:10, the app finally updated to show it had been delivered. We found the food outside on the ground: ONE pizza, covered in ants. The other pizza and 2-liter were nowhere to be seen. We called slice for a refund, and after talking to the store twice on our behalf, we were told there was "nothing the store could do." So we called them ourselves, and were told the same thing: there was nothing they could do, and the driver had tried to call us (even with contactless delivery). Neither my husband or I had ANY calls or missed calls from anyone on our phones. After going back and forth, we finally got a 30% refund on an order where we couldn't eat ANY of the food. (This also required another call to Slice to make happen.) Absolutely horrible...

Tried to order online and couldn't place a future order so called to place an order for an hour out, but it saved me 95 cents they charge to place the order online. Arrived to get the pizza and they couldn't find my order, said I probably called another location... I pressed redial on my phone and called them and they looked it up by phone number and found the order under a different name. It was ready but even when I said what the order was, they didn't recognize it and said no I didn't place the order there instead of asking for my phone number originally when they couldn't find it. The pizza itself has a lot of crispy crust and I'd rather it be more doughy but it was decent. The plain cheese had some spices on it to make it flavorful but I preferred the pepperoni. It was greasy enough to soak through paper plates but the boxes held up. Ordered 2 2-liters and it didn't come with any cups and other places include...

Decided to grab a pie today and realized I hadn't had Pavones in almost 10 years. Couldn't remember why I stopped ordering from there, so figured it was time for another visit. Upon picking it up, I remembered why I stop going.

First off, the pizza is fantastic, so two stars for that, but the service is abysmal, and not much has changed in 10 years. Went in and was largely ignored. Once somebody did take an interest in talking to customers, it was people who came in after me, essentially cutting me in line. They didn't even get to me after taking care of that guy, just went on to do something else. At least it gave me enough time to observe an overabundance of flies buzzing around the place. I think I counted no less than 30.

So -3 for service. Again, pizza is fantastic, some of the best in the area, but it's not worth it. Almost endless options for pizza in the area, life is too short to deal with whatever is...
