The Salsa Latina East Greenbush location was anxiously awaited by many and has been packed since it opened about a month ago. Last Sunday, May 9, 2021, we drove by around 7 pm and saw the parking lot was nearly empty, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and saw the place was mostly empty. There was no one at the host station, and we waited behind another party. Both of us waited for over 10 minutes to be seated, looking at each other wondering why everyone was walking by us, but no one even said, "hi," or, "someone will be with you in a minute." After a couple minutes more, both parties were seated within a minute of each other. The place was decorated fairly nicely. Big dark-wooded tables, booths, and chairs, all decorated with Mexican-themed murals. Kind if kitschy, yet warm, relaxing, and comfortable. Our server was OK. Friendly, just conversational enough, brought the drinks and food promptly, and checked on us a couple of times. No complaints there. The food, on the other hand, was very disappointing. My Chiles Poblanos were not fresh. That is, while the beans and rice looked like they were prepared that day, the poblano itself looked like it was taken out of the freezer, deep fried, and then plated. It may not be visible from the picture attached, but the plate was swimming in oil from the poblano, which was soggy, not crisp, greasy, and flavorless. The pepper itself was mushy, and had absolutely no heat (spice) to it. Oh, the rice and beans were pretty tasteless too. My wife had the spinach cream burrito and felt pretty much the same way. The filling seemed like it was not fresh, heated in the microwave, rolled up in a tortilla and served. Her dish was very bland too. Given the rave reviews most others have left for Salsa Latina East Greenbush, I had higher expectations. Maybe we stopped in on an off day, at an off time. That said, unless the owners read this and respond with some understanding and/or an explanation of the variance we experienced, we will likely not be returning. 😕

I have been to this place quite a few times. The first time was amazing! The food is on par and the ambiance is cool, however the service at this particular location is lacking at best. The people are mostly nice, but the last time we went to this location, the waiter seemed like we were stopping him from leaving. He was on his phone most of the time we were there, never asked if we needed anything and gave us the check that we weren't ready for without asking if we needed anything else. The waiter also watched us as we signed the check as if he wished we would hurry up so he could go. If you only care about the food, go here. The better option is the location on Central Ave.

We ordered from this place for the first (and last) time tonight. We were shocked by how great the reviews were, so all we could guess was that maybe this is a place you have to eat in person. We ordered take out. They didn’t separate any of the guac from the hot dishes, so it was brown sludge when it arrived, ruining several of the things we ordered. One of our empanadas was so dry it was several shades darker than the rest (see attached pic). I was surprised they sent it out when it clearly was that badly overcooked. We found everything to be really bland, particularly the beef. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and this place was a major miss for us.

We visited Salsa Latina's new location in E. Greenbush, NY. Thu. Apr 22, 2021. We have been fans of Salsa Latina at their Central Ave, Albany, NY location for many years. Our party of four had a very enjoyable evening. The new location is spacious and outdoor dining covered & uncovered is now available at this location. Although only open for about a week, the restaurant was full house indoors. We had a table very quickly and the service was what we expected. Our server was Jose who has served us well when dining in the Albany location. He brought our drinks pronto - med Texas margarita ($18), sm TX margarita ($8), a Pinot Grigio ($7), a shot of Reposado tequila ($10) & Dos Equis Speciale draft beer ($4.25). We also shared an appetizer of tostones ($4). The extensive tequila selection here has choices for everyone. We were all happy w/ the preliminaries. Jose brought the on the house corn tortilla chips & salsa. Dinners were one burrito & one taco ($11). Note you can order burritos, chimichangas, tacos, & enchilidas in any combo and any number. Your choice of chicken, beef, pork, & veggie. Dinners are served w/ refried beans & Mexican rice. Also quesadillas & nachos. Also ordered Carne Asada tacos ($14), Shrimp Fajitas ($21), & Tilapia Rancheros ($16). All were excellent, well presented, and consistent as the original location. There are also Peruvian specialties on the menu such as ceviche and my personal favorite the whole crispy red snapper. In a hurry, take out is a great option from here. Very clean and neat. Ladies reported that restrooms were very clean. The interior is colorfully decorated w/ festive banners, art, and chairs. Note to owners - start selling these colorful chairs to your customers. They're great and you can't buy them around here. Hours are 11am-10pm M-Th, 11am,-11pm Fri, 12-10pm Sat, 12-8pm Sun. We had a great time and will be back soon to enjoy your outdoor dining area. Thank you to Jose & Edith and the staff of Salsa Latina EG. Nick &...

I found the food to be good. But the issue wasn't with the food but with the server completely not knowledgeable about the menu and very slow forgot things. Came by our table the absolute minimum amount of times. Examples include only got my wife I drinks once not ever again asking or coming by for refills. I ordered coffee she brought milk I asked what it was ie half n half. Whole her response just Regular milk. I got the by the sea fajita (shrimp, chicken, steak) I ask what cut of steak it was. I was happy to see that it was flank as I thought but she had no clue even what I meant. I tried to get her attention to see if they had Splenda for my coffee and refill nope on both ends. I asked for more salsa never received it. On the menu some dishes had a special sauce and special hot sauce. It seemed that she had no clue what i was talking about i however i did get some kind of hot sauce that was good. But i dont know if it was the house hot sauce or the special sauce but I guess it was the ONLY sauce they have IDK. Took 20min to give us our check and other 15 to take it. I think the other staff released she was slow cause I saw the bar tender running his own drinks and food...
