We hired them to cater our wedding. Everything started off great when we had our first tasting. At the time we were told their pricing would increase after the new year (Jan 23) and we were okay with that. We then signed our contract with them which included their increased pricing. I had tried to contact them a few times to change some items we had on our menu and had to leave several messages just to get them to call me back. Finally it was about 30 days before our wedding and we needed to have our final count and final changes to them. It took me over 2 weeks to get a hold of them. Several calls and several messages. Finally 10 days before our wedding I get in contact with them. They said they’d send me and updated invoice since we had our final headcount. We received the invoice and they raised their prices again!! No heads up, nothing! Now it’s a week before the wedding and we had to come up with additional money to put towards the food. No where in our original contract did it state they’d be raising the prices again.. of course we had to pay it because we had no other option..very upsetting. Then the day of our wedding they arrived on time, set up their stuff, and when it came time to actually eat, the food was not even hot. We were the first table to go through the line and when we sat down to eat the food was lukewarm. Many of our guests said the same thing when they received their food. Very disappointing since that’s one thing everyone remembers. When it came time for them to clean up our venue owners and team were told that it wasn’t I our contract for them to box up our food (never knew that was an option, and nothing was ever stated in the contract). So our venue and their team actually boxed up all of our leftovers for us. Overall bad experience. Food was good yes, could’ve been better if it was warm. I think they’ve gotten too busy with all their food trucks and different events that they’re doing so their communication really lacks. Hopefully things change so that the next people that hire them have a better experience...
Read moreWorking with Osario's for our wedding catering was a wonderful and stress free experience. The group was responsive to emails and phone calls for information, put together a wonderful tasting, and provided perfect service.
Special shout-outs from our experience:
The tasting was so wonderfully done. We got to sample the appetizers we had under consideration as well as some that the chef felt we might like. As it turned out, the coconut shrimp came out of left field for us and was a crowd favorite so huge thanks for including that. We also adored the little personal touch on the tasting notes with a congratulations on it. The food at our dinner was just as wonderful as the tasting was, the staff were wonderful getting things set up and torn down.
The dinnerware was so novel and fun. They have pressed, recycled palm fronds for the dinnerware and silverware which are super robust, very unique, and went really well with our boho themed decorations.
Pricing was straightforward, there were no surprises on the bill, and the amount due the month prior to and day of the ceremony were known well in advance.
Maybe most important to us as a queer couple was being completely at ease and able to feel as valued as any cis/het couple would be. Having a rural wedding definitely came with some anticipation for us when selecting vendors, and we can say with absolute certainty that Osario's is a perfect place to work with for a queer wedding.
There really is so much good to say about Osario's. If you are searching for catering for your event, please put them on your shortlist for any of their catering options. And super especially to our queer friends to do yourself a favor and just start here with your food search. There are a ton of stressful decisions to make for a wedding and getting your appetizers and dinner figured out is (in my opinion) one of the most critical ones to get right. We are soooo happy that we went with Osario's to give our guests a memorable and delightful cocktail hour and dinner...
Read moreMy wife and I have been in quite a bit lately as it was convienently located for a later dinner after furniture shopping. We have always stopped in from time to time for their excellent happy hour and margaritas, but we sort of let ourselves forget how exceptional their food is.
Within seven days, we were in twice and each time we left very, very happy. During that time we had the AguaChile ceviche and tortilla soup as our appetizers. The ceviche was excellent, and quite unique with the green sauce with lime. We both loved the tableside tortilla soup, which was a different way to serve it. The broth for the soup was full flavored, and as you would expect in this kind of soup, was the highlight.
For our main dishes, between us, we had the carne asada, molcajete mixed grill, and shrimp ala Espana. The carne asada was perfect - tender, beefy, well seasoned and served with their black beans and veggies. The shrimp ala espana was quite good with perfectly cooked shrimp and nicely seasoned chorizo. The highlight was the molcajete mixed grill! This was a massive amount of shrimp, chicken, steak and carnitas, and some veggies, served in a big, hot lava rock. The seasoning of the entire dish was spot on, and each protein was cooked quite well. However, I have to single out the carnitas as some of the best I've ever had. The only slight letdown was the one night we had dessert - their cheesecake was good, but not great.
Their drinks deserve to be called out as they are worth coming in for just by themselves. There are a number of times we just sit at the bar with some apps and have a few of their wonderful signature margaritas.
Overall, Osorio's has provided wonderful meals and service. We will not hesitate...
