Service was poor. The two ladies who were there when we came in literally ignored us. One walk past us and never made eye contact with us. My husband and I were standing there for more than 10 minutes before I finally stepped in and peeped through the windows inside the kitchen and asked if we could just seat ourselves. That was the only time she acknowledged us and said she would be right with us. It took another 6 minutes or so before she came out and assisted us. The most surprising part, though we ordered first ahead of a lone gentleman, was that he served him first before us. When our drinks came, after an everlasting wait, the husband's coffee was fine, though cream was very limited. My hot cocoa wasn't hot. It was tepid. Maybe it got cold from waiting too long before it was served or they didn't have hot water. To warm it up, I pour a bit of hot coffee in it from my husband's pot. Hubby ordered steak and eggs, and his steak was okay, though not excellent. I ordered philly steak omellette, which says that it consists of prime rib meat, etc. There was no meat in that omelet phillysteak but two tiny pieces as small as a cranberry. I can't even taste the peppers, onions, and mushrooms as everything in it was burnt. Even the shredded potatoes or the hash that goes with both orders were burnt, too. The only saving grace to the order I had was the toast and the egg omelet itself but not the inside. For almost $18 on that order of omelet with burnt stuffing, I could have bought two pieces of nice steak on that one. Eating there was not worth a gas and anticipation. Here is the kicker on the curb, when its time to pay, nobody was on the register either. We also have to wait. I'd been to the restroom and back, yet my husband was still waiting to pay until I commented, maybe it's for free. Then, the same woman who seated us served us came running to the register. She is also the cashier all in one. And when we turned to the door, that's when I understood why the service was bad. I noticed there was a "Now Hiring sign with friendly personality." No wonder the ladies were not that friendly. This Denny's outlet is understaffed, and those two ladies were overwhelmed. More customers were coming in, but only two people were working upfront.

My family of four came here for the first time ever and was turned off, unfortunately. We had 2 children with us in addition to it being our first time and was having trouble reading the menus, understandably. When our waitress asked if we needed more time, I responded yes, because we truly did. It seemed like instantly our waitress caught an attitude and was annoyed. We ordered $70 worth of food, but when asked if we needed anything else, I had realized we never received silverware. No biggie, right? Wrong, the waitress comes back and states the dishwasher is broken and they only have plastic cutlery, each packet containing fork, spoon, salt, pepper, and 1 napkin At this point, I'm over it and don't want to cause a fuss, so we accepted the cutlery and decided to eat our meal. 10 min or so into eating, we realize we are going to need more napkins, especially seeing as half our table are children. We managed to flag down our waitress who was walking a mile a min and asked for additional napkins only for her to not stop walking, not respond but make eye contact. Moments later, another waitress walked by just as fast without stopping and handed me the extra napkins I had asked for. By now, I am annoyed, I've lost appetite, and I am READY TO GO!!! We tracked down our waitress one last time to ask for to go boxes and the check and couldn't wait to get out of there. I am also pretty sure the people seated after us received actual silverware. The food isn't that good 6.5/10. My omelet was overstuffed with burnt, charred vegetables. The glob of butter they put on the pancakes/french toast is too much. My hashbrowns were both somehow burnt and greasy undercooked (how is that possible). This was a terrible first impression. My family will not be returning. It's unfortunate because my children love breakfast type food, and Dennys could have been a location we frequent often. Good service and good food speaks volumes.

Totally the worst staffed and under managed Dennys in the Greater Rochester area. Food is always good (Dennys standard) however at this location, you're guaranteed to wait and possibly get wrong/cold food. Best to go when you dont have plans for about two hours. It took about 30 minutes just to get our coffee and water to the table. As I looked around and saw many tables up and leave, compassion and understanding came over me...took deep breaths and prayed that the staff, whom were certainly working hard...got good tips (we left one for sure)...as an appreciation that we all have bad days....and still got service and mediocre food that day...with a smile. Dennys W Ridge Rd: I hope in whatever transitional place you are at at this time comes to an end soon and that you're able to being back more of what we want: fast, hot, and ( accurate) delicious food. Kudos for keeping the environment as light and forgiving as possible. Keep at it.

this is a lengthy one so be prepared but also use this as a good reason to never go to this dennys location EVER

i don’t think i’ve ever in my life had a worse experience at a restaurant than i did today at this dennys. we walk in the door at 3:45, get seated quickly, that’s about the only good thing that happened. the hostess gets us our drinks, she was quick and friendly. about 10 mins later, our server, Amber asks us if we’ve taken our order yet. obviously we haven’t. she was not super friendly at all, she actually had almost nothing to say to us. we order an appetizer to come out first and she puts it in, then comes back to take our orders for our meals. we all ordered grand slam breakfasts, and she went to go ring it in. not a peep from her afterwards. she never checked in on us, never brought us silverware, never refilled our drinks. i had to save the last few sips of my drink for when my food came. and i had to get up and get my own silverware, i might as well have clocked in at this point. even if we wanted to ask, she didn’t bother coming to or near our table anyways so that prevented us from being able to ask. we get our appetizer which was decent. then an hour goes by, still no meals. mind you, it is not at all busy in the restaurant and there were three servers on. the other ones i watched greet, smile, and talk to their customers, check in on them, etc. ours, couldn’t have cared less about us or providing good service. finally our food comes over an hour after ordering, and she tells me that she forgot to ring mine in and that she will immediately and it will be right out. so everyone else is eating their food, i’m still waiting, waiting and waiting. lots of waiting in this restaurant. finally my food comes and we just want to leave, by the time i got my food, everyone else i was with had already finished their meals. so i ask for a box and she takes about 10 mins to get me a box, then goes and sits in a booth and plays on her phone while talking with the person sat at that table. before i go to box my food my brother notices its absolutely covered in god knows what. butter? syrup? who knows. but it’s covered in food and the box itself has crumbs all in it as if the box was already used before me. i was so disgusted, the manager was nice enough to take my meal off and show her apologies, she was friendly as well. but that will not change my opinion on this disgusting, run down, shitty serviced dennys. and our server was nowhere near apologetic, friendly, NOTHING. seems like serving is not the job for her. do better. also throwing out there, CLEAN YOUR BATHROOMS!!!!! the toilet seat was covered in god knows what bodily fluids, toilet paper all over the floor. mystery stains on the sink, garbage overflowing. i didn’t bother even using the bathroom after seeing that. just so disappointed with the experience i had. we ended up getting out of there about 5:30pm. BEWARE OF THIS DENNYS AND DONT WASTE YOUR...

After a wonderful night at a hotel with my boyfriend in Greece, NY we decided to go to a restaurant for breakfast. I haven't heard the best things about Denny's on Ridge Road in Greece, but I just figured it was just a rumor . When my boyfriend and I walked in, right away I figured this wasn't going to be a good experience. The greeter who seated us seemed as though he didn't know where he was going or what he was doing . After he looked around the restaurant trying to figure out where to place us, mind you there were only about five or six tables in the entire restaurant that had people at them, he eventually placed us when I said "you can seat us where ever you like, it looks like you're struggling." He laughed and said "yeah you saw my looking around." I am a polite person and I am a waitress at a restaurant. I am very lenient with a lot of situations and people because I have to do that at my own job . After being seated we waited for our waitress to show about 10-15 min .Before she came to our booth she went to a booth with 4 people bringing what looked like a new plate of food after they had already been eating, apologizing and explaining she was sorry and bla bla bla and they seemed extremely annoyed. By the time she came to our table, she proceeded to say "how are y'all doing, want some drinks ?" Extremely unprofessional and set a pot of hot coffee on our table ... We had already figured out what we would like to eat for breakfast . We beat the breakfast rush so I was confident we would get our meal and our drinks quite quickly. I was proved wrong right away . We waited 15 minutes for a coffee and a water and a milkshake . (They had run out of vanilla ice cream so we had to use chocolate) by the time she came, she had said "don't shoot the messenger, we ran out of clean cups." she then gave us our water in carry out cups like we were at McDonald's ! I had no silverware so I had to stir my creamer into my coffee with my straw from my water . After waiting ANOTHER 15-20 minutes for our meal we STILL DIDNT HAVE silverware and a guy ended up giving it to us. My boyfriend finished his meal and I was full and needed a box . NO ONE WAS TO BE FOUND ! The table of four and I kept making eye contact. They needed refills on coffee and what not as well! I never got a refill, she never came and checked up on us ONCE!!!!! I have never made a review on any restaurant ever !!! But this is the WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN ! No refills, dirty silverware, ridiculously long wait !!!! Unprofessional talk . When she eventually came, she proceeded to say " alright, alright, I won't keep you guys hostage any longer," and gave us our bill....

UPDATE: In all fairness, since I expressed my opinion and shared my experience at Denny's, I feel it only appropriate to share the positive as well...since this review, the company contacted me via email and we discussed my experience; they were apologetic and offered me a small token. I agreed and returned to give it another try. To my surprise, it was a great experience from the moment we stepped in the door. The restaurant was clean, even the bathrooms, it was well staffed, and staff were really friendly. We had a great meal, our server was wonderful, and it was great to see the old Denny's we used to know. Kudos Denny's. It was a nice surprise and I hope things remain this way. This is the last Denny's in our area and we hope to keep you around.

Original Post: This restaurant is absolutely disgusting!! We have gone to the Denny's at 2890 W Ridge Rd a few times. Every time we go there (yes, every time we have gone there) the place is filthy and the women's bathroom is disgusting. At first we wrote it off as short staffed, bad day, whatever. Sorry to say it has been the norm. It is sad. Denny's used to be a great diner. If this is what the public eye sees, I would hate to see what the kitchen looks like!

The second to last time we went there, the poor server dropped the entire tray of food on our table. Thank God no one was hurt other than some food on our clothes. They kindly moved us to another table and started all over again. We felt bad for the server, because the manager did not even come out to see if everything was okay with him or us. I emailed Denny's and complained. They did call me, but offered no restitution.

The last time we were there, November 5th, we ordered one of their new menu items. I got the Brisket one top of their mac-n-cheese. The brisket was really good, but the meal otherwise was less than desired. I brought to the attention of our server that there was barely any macaroni and that is was all melted cheese. According to her, there was nothing she could do. I should have just returned my meal and left. I ended up not eating it, as I did not want to eat all melted cheese only. So I brought it home and figured I would doctor it up and have it later. When I got home, I actually measured it. There was 1/4 cup of macaroni and under 3 oz. of brisket! And the meal cost $17.50!!! Definitely...
