Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

Great food. Open late. Easy parking. Staff is friendly and helpful and the service is great. Restaurantnis incredibly clean and well lit. Im very happy this place open so close to my house.

Quick update been regularly buying food here now for a few months. They get your order wrong from time to time with sides and sometimes the serving sizes and cups are inconsistent. But that was never something to make me go back and change my review or my opinion on this place.

On my last order here with my girlfriend we ordered 2 chicken sliders mild heat. And an order of the mini sliders ( comes with 4 small bite size chicken sliders ) and upgraded the French fries to mac and cheese. Upon getting home we opened our food and my girlfriends sliders were missing all 4 pieces of chicken. They had all the pickles and coleslaw it was just like they forgot to add the chicken. They also gave her French fries instead of mac and cheese.

So I immediately called and complained on the phone. I explained to Michael that we we missing the chicken on each mini sliders and also missing the mac and cheese. He told us we could go back now to replace it but I didnt feel like driving back at that time. He said no problem come in tomorrow and we can replace it.

I go back the next day around 5 pm and was helped by another guy with green hair I didnt catch his name. He was actually very kind and offered to resolve the situation by replacing the 4 sliders for me. And uh giving me the Mac and cheese at that time, I had just eaten prior to going there and I didn't know that they were just going to replace the food. I thought I could receive a gift card or something of some sort. I didn't know that this wasn't the case. They then informed me that I couldn't get a gift card and if I wanted to get the food, I'd have to come back at another time. So I go back now for my third time of being at this restaurant, trying to get my original order, correct. while I am there i see the same guy with the green hair. He then asks me, Hey, did you get your food yesterday? And I said, no I did not have a chance to come here. I was busy working at this point. He goes and gets another guy and tells him about the situation. Now, I have three different people still trying to figure out how to get me around twelve dollars worth of food. The part that really got me angry was now These 3 employees are trying stand around me questioning me and saying that I changed my story and that I am making up the amount of food or what the order was that they got wrong. Essentially calling me a liar.

This really annoyed me I gave this place so much bussiness and really enjoyed coming here for months. They eventually replaced the food and juat threw it in a small clear plastic container not even the usual container their food comes in.

I was just disappointed in being treated like a criminal for trying to get my correct order.

Last night it is clear that there is a lack of a system in terms of service. I order a meal #2 and #4 hoping to get my order ready by 20 minutes max. The only weird thing about the limited menu is there is simply meals and no options to order the tenders or sliders/sandwich. As someone who just eats the sandwich/slider I found it wasteful to give fries They give us pagers and even that didn't vibrate and I had to constantly ask updates on my order. A worker would constantly say wait 5 minutes every time, nearly 50 minutes after the first time my food was finally ready. Also their systems needs improvement a worker attempted to call out an order # , was screaming it for no reason to the point I could hear his voice starting to crack. I find it interesting how there was a screen meant for mobile orders and yet I saw none of the orders in that order. For their inconvenience of having me wait an hour for my food, they gifted me a free slushie and even that slushie was too sweet and I have a sweet tooth. After finally trying the food that has been hyped up on tiktok, the sliders/sandwich was nice and juicy although their spice level needs to be reevaluated. I ordered the mild spicy hoping to eat some flavor but wasnt spicy at all. Overall the price is nice and cheap but this is a fast food restaurant hence emphasis on the "fast food" I enjoyed the food but I don't see the point in ordering in when its crowded, I'd rather go to the other fried chicken places near there. I cannot justify waiting for an hour for midflavor chicken. This was my first and last time ever coming to this...

Overall 4.5 stars. The pick up process could have been better but the food was wonderful.

I placed the order via the app at 5:50 pm, with pickup at 6:30 pm. Got there at 6:40 pm, parked around the corner (as parking area in front of the restaurant was very busy) and as I walked in, realized it was a busy evening for them. I saw about 20 people in line waiting to order and about 20 to 30 people waiting for their food. There was a monitor on the right side, showing names and status for each order (online orders, Door Dash and GrubHub). If you placed an order waiting in line, you were given a pager that lit up when your order was ready.

Even though I was ten minutes late for my 630 pm pick up, I did not see my name on the monitor. Finally after waiting about ten minutes, I saw my name appear on the monitor with a status of "Order being prepared." Another ten minutes and it changed to "Order ready" and I pushed my way to the front, got the counter guys attention, showed him my order email and got my food.

So how was it? Pretty damn good! I got three orders of Dave's #2 meal (2 chicken slides with fries, pickles and sauce on the side), with varying levels of spice from Hot to Mild. Total for my order (three Dave's #2 meals, tax and a 10% tip) was around $55. There was enough food in each order for two meals.

So aside from some first time issues with understanding the ordering/pick up system and now understanding how busy they can be, I have to say it was a very positive and tasty result. Next time, I am going to try out the Extra Hot and see...
