First time and upon entering i saw a family get rejected because they had a service dog. Also, no children under 6 allowed..very strange. Onto the meal
The appetizers were nothing special. Had the tempura shrimp, fried squid and mixed seafood w/ soybean sauce. I found the squid and octupus hard and chewy. The sushi and sashimi combos on the other hand were very good and the fish was fresh. It was a bit pricy but the overall good quality.

I went alone and sat at the bar. Spent twice as much as I was expected but got exactly what I wanted. Incredibly fresh and delicious fish, the most authentic Japanese I have ever had. Incredible quality and care into every bite. Learning the whole time about what I should dip in soy sauce. Definitely a unique experience and relaxing atmosphere I had the place to myself on a Wednesday.

Thank you for serving the real Japanese dishes in this area. I was satisfied their service and a tasty lunch box.

I don’t post negative reviews about anything, but in this case, I simply need to share some facts. I always advise contacting the restaurant, but I know this restaurant doesn’t care. So this is a PSA for those who don’t enjoy being treated badly while spending a lot of money.

I have been here twice. Once in 2019 and once recently. The food is fine and the owners are Japanese.

Both times i walked away feeling depressed, but this last time, also angry.

The first time, I sat at the bar and the people tried to convince me not to because they didn’t believe that we actually liked real Japanese food. The restaurant was like a funeral and the employees glared at us during our entire meal.

I returned recently with my mom and two kids ages 7 and 9 to give it another try.

They now have two large signs at the door that say that children under five are not allowed. Even though my kids are not under 5, I should have turned around and left.

Before we could enter, an employee stopped us and asked my children’s ages. Again, I don’t know why I didn’t just leave.

Again.. the atmosphere was that of a wake. Apparently speaking is also not allowed. We whispered during the entire meal.

$180 later, we all walked out feeling guilty for existing.

I have given up on finding a delicious and authentic Japanese restaurant in Westchester county and yes I have tried them all.

I’ll stick to Sushi Mikes where I know the fish is excellent and I won’t be...

I’ve been a loyal customer here for months and often recommend this place to friends because the food is usually great. Unfortunately, after my most recent visit, I will never return.

I came with two friends and our subtotal was about $140 for three plates. I tipped 25% because I felt bad arriving about an hour before closing. Despite this, the male host hassled me for more tip while I was still at the table. Feeling pressured, I added more to bring it to roughly a 27% tip. He then snatched the bill from my hand and said, “It’s okay,” in a dismissive tone.

This is completely unprofessional and left me shocked. No customer should be solicited for more tip after already leaving a generous one, let alone treated rudely after complying. It’s a shame, because the food has always been good, but I won’t support a business that disrespects loyal...

We have been eating here for more than a decade, tolerating the unwelcoming staff, depressing decor & high prices because the sushi is of high quality. But last night was the final straw. The rude server/hostess reluctantly seated my wife and me at the empty sushi bar after warning us we would now have to pay a minimum of $85 per person. No problem. But after ordering drinks and appetizers, more new rules were revealed to us: the $85 minimum is for sushi only and does not include our drinks or appetizers or any other food, including (inexplicably) sashimi. Furthermore if one of us goes above the minimum, the extra amount can not be applied to the other person. When we asked the server to please clarify the rules, she threw the sushi menus down at us and exclaimed “I told you already. Figure it out!” This is when we got up & left the...
