I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mi Rancho Alegre for the first time with my husband, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, we were welcomed by a festive decor that instantly put us in a joyful mood. The cozy atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place.
But let's talk about the real star of the show - the food. Mi Rancho Alegre knows how to impress when it comes to their culinary creations. The portions were generous to say the least, and every bite was an explosion of flavors. I ordered the tacos pastor and they were nothing short of perfection. The succulent meat, the flavorful marinade, and the fresh toppings made me realize I had found my new go-to taco spot. My husband opted for the Steak Patron, and he too was blown away by the deliciousness of his dish.
Although we were already quite full from our main course, we couldn't resist trying the fried ice cream. And boy, were we glad we did! The combination of the warm, crispy exterior and the cold, creamy ice cream was absolutely fantastic. It was the perfect ending to our amazing meal.
Throughout the busy night, our server Daniel ensured we had a wonderful dining experience. Despite the hustle and bustle, he took excellent care of us, attending to our needs with a smile.
Overall, our first visit to Mi Rancho Alegre was an extraordinary culinary journey filled with festive ambiance, mouthwatering dishes, and exceptional service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of authentic Mexican cuisine served with a touch of warmth and care. It certainly won't be...
Read moreMeeting two friends from Albany this was the midway point. It turned out great. Hudson has lots of good looking restaurants so it was the Google review that made us pick Restaurant Mi Rancho Alegre. It’s in a strip mall with Steples right next to it. It’s nothing special from the outside. Inside it has a nice Mexican Restaurant feel. The bar is a decent size but was mostly full while we were there. We took a hightop table in the bar area. Mostly there are regular tables which allow for different size groups.
As soon as we sat down chips, salsa and a bean dip was put on our table. While many Mexican restaurants give chips and salsa, the bean dip was a nice extra. We had a drink while waiting for our friends to show up. I had the Skinny Margarita but with Casamigos Reposado tequila. My wife ordered a chilled Casamigos and a glass of bubbly water and limes to mix her own Ranch Water type of drink. When our friends arrived they ordered a margarita and a cosmos. I started with a margarita and switched to a Ranch Water.
My wife and I both ordered the Spinach Enchilada which we both enjoyed. Our friends shared an order of vegetarian fajitas and a side order of shrimps. We also had a large Guacamole which came with more chips. The Guacamole was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. We ended up there for almost three hours. The service was as excellent as the food was.
Looking at Google Maps I notice that the Empire State Trail runs right behind Mi Rancho. We have walked many parts of this trail and next time will talk from here before...
Read moreI took my kids here on a Monday evening on a whim since we were in Hudson. Every table was full, which was exciting in some sense since Columbia County can be a bit...dull sometimes. It felt exciting to go out to eat in a packed restaurant, which was also a sign to me that we would likely be enjoying an amazing meal. The lighting, ambiance and music were just perfect.
Within a few minutes of being politely seated, we received chips, salsa and a plate of refried beans, which was so nice because we were all hungry after a long day. Our waiter, Chico, was friendly and personable not only to me, but to my kids as well, which made me happy to see them be acknowledged and treated with warmth and respect.
We started out with the appetizer sampler, including wings, nachos, taquitos, jalapeno poppers and a quesadilla with hot sauce and ranch dressing. Everything was delicious. For the main course, my daughter ordered a cheeseburger from the kids menu, my son got the flag enchiladas and I ordered the steak tacos Jalisco. Again, everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were pretty full at this point and took most of it home. Next time I would probably skip the appetizer and just order entrees. The prices were affordable considering the portion sizes. I don't drink alcohol, but the drink menu looked great and the bartender was busy. We also got to watch the sunset from our table. All in all it was a lovely night and I look forward to eating...
