Itās the prices. 100%, the prices. I had to pay $21 for a small specialty pizza, just for the pizza itself. Their online menu is twice out of date, and their in-store menu is once over out of date. After looking at the menu in the store, and seeing that the price was $2.50 lower than the actual pizza, I asked if the menu had been updated. They said it was, so I asked if the taxes were really $4, because Iām fairly new to Hamburg. She said it that was incorrect, but that the menu was correct. I had to show her the menu myself, and she went through the register, and realized that all of the menus were out of date. Then, when I got home, it was like a Stromboli, not a pizza :/. The pizza is always just fine, the prices are insane, and having to find out that the menu was wrong in the past before, I truly think now that theyāre trying to trick...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm from the northtowns where sweet sauce is common, and have tried many kinds. Among my favorite is Pizza Oven in Lockport, which is known for their sweet sauce, thin crust pizza. This place is the first in the southtowns to bring sweet sauce pizza down here, and I was sadly disappointed. The pizza seems overpriced for what it is, was not fully cooked in the middle, and I agree with the overwhelming majority consensus that the sweet sauce here is FAR too sweet. Tasted like I was eating sugary fried dough with cheese and pepperoni on top. Sadly couldn't taste the tomato sauce at all through the buckets of sugar added. A successful sweet sauce has a balance. You guys need to tone it down on the sugar, and cook your pies better for longer. If the sweet sauce is tweaked to reduce the sugar, might try this place again....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter reading conflicting reviews about Papa's Pizza I just decided to try it. I ordered a half pizza (6 pieces) cheese and pep for myself. I can see why there's no consensus because this pizza hits different. You are either going to love or hate this pizza. First of all it's square so the slices are irregular. Also, they overload the toppings up to the edge so that they get a bit of char around the edges. The last difference is they offer sweet or regular pizza sauce.
Personally I love a bit of char flavor and don't think it overpowers the other flavors at all. I don't like sweet sauce so went with regular but to me even that was sweet. So much so that I wondered if they messed up that part of the order. Overall I think it was pretty good but it's so unique I will have to try it a...
