Backstage — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I Loved going to Backstage with my pretty big group of friends years ago. The music was awesome and the Bartenders were awesome. I or We did not miss a weekend for years. We tried other clubs but no place came close to our SPOT !! We started dancing on our way there and kept on dancing walking in until last call. I know it was great business for Backstage to spread the word about MY SPOT, but by me telling everyone about Backstage, Their were times where is was so crowded, but believe me, I made sure I had all the room I needed to dance the night away. I met lifelong friends there that I still hang out with after all these years. I am trying to get a reunion for all of us to relive our Greatest Disco night memories at the BEST DISCO CLUB, MY SPOT "BACKSTAGE". If I had only 3 wishes to fulfill, 1st would be to be RICH $$$, 2nd be18 again and last and definitely not least would to have one more weekend of Disco Music and Dancing the nights away at Backstage. Now that I am thinking about those AMAZING Nights We Had, I just might have to get my girls together for a girls night out at Backstage! It's hard to get a drink. The bartenders are too busy goofing around or taking care of people they know. I tip well. But they would never find out. Music was lady Dee Wells tonight...she is always good..then somebody who was kinda wack. 2 birthday parties that I think filled the spot up. So I have to check it out on a non birthday night to give it 5 stars. I had a good time tonight though. New review November 30th 2018 I went back on a Friday and invited a couple friends to go as well. 1:30 am place was empty and they close @ 3 am. But here we go again, we had a female bartender who kept the change....it was only a dollar....but you don't keep the change. My friend was about to add on 6 bucks but changed her mind when she didn't bring the change. Soured the night. We went elsewhere. This is how I tip. Whatever the drink is I tip 5 bucks. Due to the fact that I understand the struggle...but dam...you just don't keep the tip. Mandatory bar tips? I was really trying to like this place, but for this night you only...

I found out about The Backstage Bar and Bowling lanes in Nov ‘18. I have been there 3-4 times since then. Excellent place to have a jumping food time out in Woodmere, LI. I went on Fri nights for R&B Friday’s and the music was excellent - service at the bar can get a bit slow at times but that’s because they were busy and I am a drinker 🍹🍹BUT the prices are very reasonable. The bar sells finger foods and even that was delicious . Everyone was dancing and the atmosphere is light and welcoming . My experience was a great location with ample free street parking !! All pluses in my book as we drove from Brooklyn like 3 times and even caught an Uber on 2 occasions. Really, this place is just a great as any of the Manhattan clubs. Definitely I will be returning .. I might even get to bowl...
