FRIENDLIER of Woodmere — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

In my humble opinion, not only is this the best restaurant in the 5 towns for food but they have the nicest and most sincere staff. The atmosphere at Friendlier's is great and makes for a wonderful evening dinner or lunch. My Grandparents have lived in Woodmere since the 1960s. My mom and her siblings grew up in Woodmere. We have been coming to Friendliers for as long as I can remember and as long as this restaurant has been established. We have many memories here. Even though, now we all live across the county they still remember us and treat us like family and when there was a sudden death in the family and we all had to gather back in Woodmere to be there. A few of us stopped by Friendliers for a quick bite and when we told them why we were there they were genuinely saddened by the news. When I went to the counter to pay for all of the food, well over $70, the guy behind the counter swiped my credit card and told me not to worry about the receipt/tip. I didn't realize at the moment but when I saw my statement a week later I saw that I was only charged $1. Thank you Friendlers for your friendship and for your respect and kindness you have shown all of your customers all of these years. Will be back anytime I am anywhere...

I've been coming here for years. This is more than just a pizza place. Their restaurant area as well as other seating with booths and tables are both a very nice atmosphere and very clean! Their dinners are outstanding, delicious. I must've tried them all by now, from appetizers, to soups, to salads, to main courses of pasta, chicken, veal, seafood plus the yummy fresh desserts and coffees. Portions are large so you may be bringing home leftovers which is always nice. Besides the clean beautiful atmosphere and delicious food thats the best in the area, the owner Vito, his entire family and wait staff who work there are all very accommodating and super nice and friendly. Maybe that's why they named it Friendlier. I feel like family when I go there. Don't pass up the daily drink specials or martinis Mon- Wed. Or the desserts. I highly...

Normally the service there is okay, but the pizza is not tasty at best. I go there because it's next to the gym as i get off the train and it's convenient since there isn't much else around. Today i order a slice and say it doesn't need to be heated up. The guy continues to put it in the oven as i say it 4 different times. Then when i get loud he tells me to relax. Im sorry but your too busy paying attention to what ever else your paying attention to instead of the request from the customer, and tells me to calm down. How about sorry sir i wasn't focused or didn't hear you instead of being condescending and acting like i did something wrong.
