Gotta Getta Bagel Of Woodmere — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Granted this is the best Kosher bagel stop. Not the best over all. Yes the place is really clean, staff is well trained. Food? I guess after growing up with Maxes it’s hard to compare. Not to mention my favorite which was on vacation for two weeks “not kosher” your white fish should have better consistency and larger pieces of white fish. The prepackaged herring in cream sauce was ehhhh. Cream was curdled the herring pieces cut way too small. Threw it out. Backed goods very good. Bagels were OK but prices are from another world. I pay 30% less especially flats buy 12 get 14…. All in all a nice place catering not just to the Jewish community but predominately to the orthodox. That’s ok the food is really good like a silver or bronze medal but not gold. Will continue to come back when my guy is closed on Sunday. But in general learn from the competition! This bagel spot isn't just a simple quick service store to grab a bagel and go, it's a phenomenon, an experience. Instantly when walking in the atmosphere of bustling and satisfied customers, chatting at the tables and enjoying their meal. I find the "Gotta Getta" signs charming and brings a bit of personality to the location, which it already has enough of due to the service the workers, with their professional yet kind words when taking an order. This spot also offers other pastries and dishes for any occasion. When I tried the chocolate rugelash and the cookies, they paired excellently with the coffee offered here too, which is expected for a place like this. Despite not trying any of the lunch dishes such as the sushi, I have heard from others I dined here with that they recommend those too. The service in this store is terrible. I’ve been here on a few occasions for bagel and coffee and on the three occasions that I have been the service was consistently poor.

1st time- I had my bagel prepared and I’m standing at the register ready to pay. There were several employee’s behind the counter and no one offered to ring me up. Eventually I had to ask if someone was going to charge me for my items.

2nd time- Again came in for bagel and coffee. There were at least 4 people behind the counter, and no other customer at the time. I waited several minutes for someone to acknowledged me and take my order.

3rd time- Again had my bagel prepared, standing at the counter ready to pay, and they rung up the person BEHIND me first 🤦‍♀️
