I’m conflicted writing this review. When the food is good, it’s great. The owner is a really nice guy, it’s convenient, inexpensive, and overall a reliable place I enjoy getting food.
But (more than) the past few times I’ve come in have been disappointing. Each time I’ve come, it has taken over 10 minutes for staff to even acknowledge me, even when it’s not busy. I order the same thing each time over text to pick up, and it comes out wrong or different every time. I would just like my food to be the way I ordered it, especially as someone who exclusively orders online in a way that details my exact order in text. Sometimes, the food I ordered a full hour in advance hasn’t even begun to be made, despite it being an empty deli when I arrive. The specialty drink prices and sizes seem to change each time I visit and order a large, and this time when I ordered a half and half/Arnold Palmer, I was given iced coffee in mine instead of iced tea (which I failed to realize until it was too late).
I work in food service and I hate to leave bad reviews but this has been a consistent theme, and I get food multiple times a week from this deli. I do not think my order has been correct one single time since January. Unfortunately it feels like the staff isn’t paying attention to their customers and their orders, or is being too hasty with making things and they turn out wrong. I would have brought it up in store if I wasn’t standing there for yet another 10 minutes afterward with nobody stopping to speak with me.
I love the food when it’s good and I would like to continue ordering here but there needs to be better effort and prioritization of adequate customer service. Please do this and I will more than happily change my review, but until then I do not think I will be coming in nearly as...
Read moreI can tell you from first hand experience this isn’t just your run of the mill deli. I’m a firm believer that you can tell just how good or bad a deli is by simply looking around inside. The place is spotless, and when I say spotless I mean everything. The counters, display cases, floors and even the parking lot are always clean and inviting. Then there’s the food. I’m all over the island on a daily basis and can confidently say I’ve tried a majority of delis on the island. This place is hands down one of my favorites. From their breakfasts and sandwiches to their daily hot food choices and salads, you can tell they take pride in providing excellent food with quality ingredients. Lastly is the service. Everyone that works there has been extremely pleasant and efficient in making sure customers are served promptly and they do it with a smile. Mitchell field is an all around great place whether I’m grabbing coffee and an egg sandwich, hot lunch from their daily hot food menu , or one of their awesome salsa or sandwiches. Read moreIf I could leave less than one star I would. My office was looking for a new breakfast place as we haven't had any luck since moving locations. I prefaced my order with New Garden telling them that we have 30 coworkers who will order everyday if this order goes well... Maybe I should not have said anything at all. We ordered a total of 10 sandwiches and low and behold they managed to mess up 3 of them. 2 sandwiches were on the wrong bagel and one of them had a huge piece of hair inside the wrapper(see below). It's almost as if they didn't want our business. The best part about this whole debacle is the receipt was completely correct so I have no idea how things went so south. To be honest, I get it, things happen and they could have been jammed packed.
