Since East Bay Diner don't have an email, I'll do it here.... I took my grand daughter 8 months old to a Diner for the very 1st time. Upon walking in the woman whose usually at the counter, waived her arm and said " just take a booth over there" I asked for a hi chair, and she said someone will bring one rite over. So we selected a booth in the direction she waived her arm. Once there, we waited, waited, and waited. Finally, a waitress came over and said ....are you ready to order? What will you have? We said, a hi chair, and a menu.....She didn't even know we didn't have a menu. Oh they're on the place mats, and she grabbed 1 place mat for my wife, my daughter, and myself....1 for all of us. I again asked for a hichair, she said she will come rite back with one..We waited about 7 more minutes, and a total of about 20 minutes, still no hi chair. We made a decision to leave and go elsewhere, a few minutes east and on Sunrise hi way. We were greeted, walked to a table, and had a hi chair within a minute of walking in. East Bay was one of my preferred diners, but today's experience opened my eyes up to Madsapequa diner. Keep in mind, at East Bay, our section had us, and 2 other tables, they wernt overwhelmed, and overlooked us. They just had no coordination. Seeing one employee texting up by the desk the whole time, and our waitress not knowing up from down, kind of explains why the...
Read moreI have been coming to this diner for years. We came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast, and it was an unpleasant experience. The waiters were arguing right in front of us when we sat down. One of the placemats on the table was dirty, but we didn’t mind too much. The menus were a bit sticky as well. Our waiter served our juices holding them from the top with hands that did not seem too clean and juice spilled everywhere. My coffee had a lipstick mark on the top of it. Once they brought out the food, the plates were stacked one on top of the other, with the omelette and home fries being squished by the bottom of the plate on top of it. They also brought out the wrong meals for my parents, took them away, brought the same ones back, and just before they were about to start eating, they took the plates away again and brought the right ones back which was very strange. The only reason I’ve given this 2 stars as opposed to 1 is because the food was good and a reasonable price. When we went up to the front to pay, the woman asked how everything was, and we told her that it wasn’t very good. She did not seem to care and did not ask any further questions about our experience. It seems that this diner has really gone downhill, which is a shame because it was a favorite. This was such a disappointment, and we will not be...
Read moreWaitress ignored us and was rude from the moment we walked in even though we were being very nice to her. When the food came out there were many tiny pieces of metal or tin foil throughout my grilled cheese sandwich and I was not able to eat it. I planned on nicely asking for another one but she never came back and after 30 minutes we just decided to get up and pay the bill. I took a piece of the sandwhich up with me to show the guy that there were metal shards in the food and nicely asked him if he could just take the sandwhich off the bill. He threw it in the trash and gave us attitude that he needed our check. We said she never brought to us so we didn’t have it. He grabbed the card out of my friend’s hand and swiped it. I said wait did you take the sandwhich off? He was borderline yelling at me and said “yeah she paid 15 dollars!” But how was I meant to know that when he never gave us a check or said how much he was charging us? Who just swipes someone’s card without telling them how much money they’re being charged? The most concerning part is that he threw the sandwhich away and didn’t even care enough to investigate the issue or show the kitchen staff that they got metal in someone’s food. I wouldn’t advise eating here for health and safety reasons but also the aggression and attitudes of the...
