The Parkview — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

My partner and I were really looking forward to trying this new local restaurant, especially after hearing some positive buzz. Unfortunately, our experience was quite underwhelming.

The food was the main issue. The French onion soup tasted like plain beef stock, completely lacking the rich flavor we expected. My French dip sandwich was disappointing—it was made with unseasoned, untoasted, and cold bread. I ordered truffle fries, but they had no truffle flavor whatsoever (and it's unclear from the bill if we were even charged for the upcharge). My boyfriend's avocado chicken BLT had chicken with an odd texture. We barely ate half of our main courses.

The only bright spots were the fresh-cut chips and my boyfriend's sweet potato fries, which were tasty.

We agree with other reviewers that this is an overpriced burger/sandwich joint with no ambiance. The White and Marble is modern and clean but lacks character. While our server was very nice and provided good service, the food simply didn't justify the high prices or our expectations. As locals, we're sad to say we won't be returning. Our experience at the restaurant was made exceptional thanks to our amazing server Michael !! From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that immediately set the tone for the evening. He was not only incredibly sweet and friendly but also truly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to ask us what kinds of flavors we liked and gave spot-on recommendations — both the cocktails and the dishes he suggested were absolutely delicious.

What stood out most was how effortlessly attentive he was. He checked in at just the right times, always making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive. You could tell he genuinely cared about our experience and wanted us to enjoy every part of our meal. His energy was kind, positive, and authentic — it didn’t feel like just another night at a restaurant; it felt like we were being hosted by someone who loved what they do.

So glad we finally decided to stop in for dinner on a Friday night. We’ve been seeing this place for awhile but always hesitate because we have 2 young kids and don’t want to disturb anyone- they are well behaved but this place looks nice!! Beautifully decorated in black, white and gold accents. We decided to come in because it was early. Our server Mike was so nice helpful. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich and I had the vodka pesto pasta- both delicious and large portions, we brought half home. We got the kids the chicken nuggets which are not the phony kind- these are hand cut and breaded chicken chunks, perfectly cooked and yummy fries to go with it.
