Capri Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I wonder how this place has such a high rating. I was going to a BBQ for memorial day weekend. I put off getting anything from my regular bakery because I looked at the menu of what Capri had on the online menu and figured I'd just get it from them. They had multiple chocolate flavored cakes listed.

When I arrived there they had limited cakes available. I knew I needed to get something chocolate. There were only two options the fudge layer and another with ganache. I chose the ganache one. I'm glad it was only $25 because it wasn't good

The sponge was dry and crumbly. The inside chocolate cream as well as the ganache had no chocolate flavor at all. It was just an overly sweet brown cake. I was so embarrassed about the comments about how sweet the cake was, but I had to agree, it was overly sweet and seemed stale.

On June 2, 2023 I needed a cake (last minute) for my fiancés brother for his birthday. His brother’s request was banana cake. I called several bakery's and no one was able to help me until I called CAPRI BAKERY and spoke with Rob. He was able to make a fresh cake with fresh bananas & chocolate pudding filling everything that was requested by the birthday boy and it was ready for pick up by 6:30 that evening. Little did Rob know that my fiancés brother has cancer and has been very ill and not eating but the cake was amazing and his brother ate almost all of it with in that week. I now have ordered the same cake as we are going over to see him this weekend. Moral of this story is that Rob (Capri Bakery) went above and beyond and made my fiancés brother so happy with Rob's creation. Thank you all for making him smile and going...

I found Capri bakery almost by accident. When I go to my doctors office on Merrick Rd. I always try to pick up something for the staff. I was fortunate enough to interact with Ms.Sofia and her lovely daughter Rachel. They are two of the most pleasant people you will meet and add to this wonderful bakery. They are so helpful, courteous and know just what every item is and as per my wife, Rachel makes a great cappuccino! The items are fresh with a wide variety with everything from cakes, desserts, pies, pound cakes and bread. Rachel and Ms. Sofia only add to the ambience and experience. I wholeheartedly advise those in the area to check it out and you will not be disappointed with the selection, items and staff. Bravo to Capri for having such hard working folks especially Rachel...
