I wasn't expecting to like this place nearly as much as I did. My group and I had just been horribly let down by a planned sushi-related excursion so were already in a foul mood when we found this place. It's a hole-in-the-wall, and the blinds were closed so we didn't initially know we could even sit down, but we were brave and walked in anyway, quickly finding the sit-down spot to the right behind the head-curtains.
To see the menu, you'll have to scan a QR code with your phone, FYI. But once you do, it's really easy to navigate and order.
I was honestly surprised at how quickly my food arrived, even with a constant barrage of customers coming in to pick up their take-out orders.
When I received my food, the portions were definitely generous. The Chicken Curry consisted of a very, very large scoop of white rice with an even larger scoop of a mixture of baked potato chunks and chicken. It included one of those take-out salads with the orange zest dressing, and a medium sized bowl of miso soup.
Two of our party had Poke bowls - The salmon or the tuna. It had corn, thin seaweed strips, and layered slices of avocado, all on a bed of rice of your choice, along with three scoops of tuna/salmon tartare. It was mouth-watering.
In the age of inflation and an unsteady economy, I was expecting the prices to be more expensive than they were for what we got. No, nothing was super-cheap, but it wasn't vastly overpriced either. It was a welcome relief.
Everything was clean and orderly. There were only two people working at the time but somehow they were faster (And nicer!) than places that had more staff working.
I genuinely had a wonderful time, and I was so unexpectedly charmed by it that I will user as many people to eat here as possible.
Thanks, Edo! I really appreciate the hospitality. I hope to eat...
Read moreI am a new customer and tried their food for the first time through seamless. I am very familiar with Japanese food and know how to cook the dishes I ordered. I did not order sushi and plan to try it another time. One of my absolute favorite dishes is Japanese curry so I was impressed that they had it on their menu. Unfortunately, if you are looking to try something authentic this isn't how japanese curry is made (although this curry tastes good), their curry is possibly categorized as a fusion. I had also ordered the Takoyaki and it tastes like the microwave kind. I know how to cook both at home, but wanted to try a new restaurant. Overall still had a good dinner. The meal came with miso soup and salad. This place may possibly have better sushi so I will try it again before...
Read moreWithout a doubt, the worst sushi you can get around here. I got 6 different rolls and miso soup. The soup was sour and had barely any seaweed or tofu. The sushi was mostly inedible, eel avocado roll was disgusting with a sauce that is not eel sauce, and some the rolls didn't even contain eel. Salmon avocado roll had fish that tasted and smelled horrible. The shrimp tempura roll had the texture of mashed potatoes. I am extremely disappointed as I saw so many good reviews, and the pictures looked...
