El Ajicito — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

If I could give this 0 stars I honestly would. Everything was going smooth until we got our food... the server bough out our entrees and I asked where our appetizers were, she said they’re coming out and I asked if they’re appetizers why would She bring them with the entrees... rudely she said well you should’ve said you wanted them as an appetizer, I said I mean if the food I ordered is under “appetizers” its an appetizers unless other wise asked for.. she literally kept arguing trying to make it seem like it was my fault, as a good customer I took everything instead of sending it back, after that happened she never came back to our table to ask if we needed anything or make sure we were good. I knew I was not wrong when another customer had an issue with her too. To make the story short the food wasn’t food at all either so we barely ate, mind you it was me, my boyfriend and my son who were dining when I asked for the bill I had to ask her co worker and I never got the bill to my table, I had to go to the front and ask where I had to pay... she rudely told me to “come here” to the table where she was eating and handed me a receipt that already included 15% gratuity and I asked why she took the tip if its only a party of 3 not 6, again she rudely said its restaurant policy! At this point I no longer wanted to argue nor be there anymore and paid and left. My cousin is a regular there and told me they never dis that to him unless the bill is over 120$ and our bill was $70 ! Would not recommend this to anyone !! HORRIBLE SERVICE and the food is not...

So like every New year’s eve i like to order Peruvian food. The deluxe seafood. Usually i would go to mi candela 2 but i wanted to try a new place since “el ajicito” was recommended to me as one of my family members turns out to get along with the manager super well. So i paid around $120 just to get 4 small empty half a** fried seafood “jalea”. There was barely fish and barely shrimp. I paid so much for a horrible service and the onion/tomato salad that comes with it was so bad. I am confused cause either they got my order wrong or they was rushing. To me it’s sad because i saw all the good reviews but then see my order for a family reunion was terrified. I tried calling the place multiple times and no one picked up. UPDATE: I have to bring down to 1 stars since I feel sick after eating at this restaurant. Stomach ache and I have nauseas. I believe its the fish it wasn’t fresh. So disappointed 👎

Today was the first time going to this restaurant. I has anticuchos and rachi: rachi had all the salt anticucho missed. I also ordered ruleta marina and it was meh. It comes arroz con mariscos , ceviche, papa a la huancaina, leche de tigre and choritos a la chalaca, they give you the option to change choritos for jalea ( for 2$ more of course) I changed the choritos. The jalea was mainly squid just 2 tiny fried fish.The only good thing from all of that was the leche de tigre. For a drink I had maracuya ( passion fruit) taste but sweet I guess why it was taste.
