Great place, a veritable supermarket / wishlist for the handyman. Like the old Radio Shack was to an electronics hobbyist, this place is hard to get out of without buying something that you're sure you'll need someday. Some products aren't professional quality, but some are better than available at other sources at any price. For example, I got plastic parts boxes more thoughtfully designed than those at Home Depot. A selection of affordable shrink tubing that's hard to find anywhere. Great "hockey puck" magnetic/hangable LED lights much cheaper than at a computer superstore, etc. (and often on sale). On the other hand, their cheap moving blankets wreaked of some solvent (requiring two washes before gone). Their cheap grounded female A/C cord connectors have one problem -- lousy connection with what you plug into them. But for most items, my rule of thumb is this: Most of their products are entirely sound and suitable at least for light duty or infrequent use, and many are just as good as what you'll buy elsewhere for more. Why overpay for durability for a project you'll do only once? (If you're not an auto mechanic, how often will you use that torque wrench?) And, maybe it's the hours or days that I shop, or the particular location, but I've found their personnel to be helpful and patient, and the lines...
Read moreI had to go 2x to get the right pricing. So averaging the scores comes to 3/5 stars. 1st time I went I had a coupon for a drill that was supposed to be $19. It rang up $22. Cashier Zania was helpful and pleasant tried to resolve, but was unable to assist. Called for Manager Alvin, who informed me it wasn't the right drill. I asked to have the correct drill. Alvin looked & informed they didn't have any in stock. I advised website states it's in stock. I was advised it was floor model. I discontinued transaction. I was leaving when Alvin tried to provide an alternate drill with a similar price. Upon my review, it's not a comparable drill and I refuse it. Alvin informed," Hun, we go by skus." In which I informed they skus didn't match🤔. Went back 2nd time to review the sku on coupon and inventory. Determined they had 2 skus they were honoring for price. Armed with this info I returned to register and had helpful Manager Michael who was able to honor coupon price and worked to resolve issue. Harbor Freight should commend Zania and Manager Michael. Manager Alvin should...
