Homemade Taqueria Hempstead — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I've eaten here before and food has been great and the service alright. Not bad.

However I brought some friends here for the first time one day to share my experience, we ended up waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to finally come to our table. When she finally came over after our signals she didn't ask us what we wanted to drink or order just stood there with her pad and pen, we had to ask her if she wanted to start us first with drinks or take orders for the meals as well, she replied that it doesn't matter as if it she just wanted to get it over with and took all our orders. After we got our meals we realized we didn't have any napkins or forks and knives and had to go up to the counter and inform them, she came and put it on our table without any good disposition or smile or any questions of whether we needed anything else and never came back. There was a weird sewage smell coming from the bathroom yet we didn't want to get more attitude com the waitress so we didn't mention it.

Our friends are pretty chill and we still happened to have a great time and excused it as maybe she was having a bad day. But this was the first time I ever felt like not even giving tip. The food in itself has always been delicious, but it's kind of disappointing when you say great things about a place to your guests and then it turns out to be not what they thought the...

well i want to be very honest,my first time i ordered to pick up it was wonderful;deliciuos food i was super happy and keeping my mind to continue stop by to eat lunch and bring friends to this restaurant,the staff is very friendly and is different ambience more familiar and good Christian music I love it,but unfortunallybi really have a bad experience once I had the lunch special;I order tostadas and the pork carnitas was completely cold,we was in a rush and we ate them because we was very hungry,it was the only food I ate in the whole day,OMG I got a bacteria and intoxication during almost 5 days,in was so sick and I just feel very sad because I had the willing to support this business but they should improve the way they manipulated the food,otherwise the people can get sick,I really just feel super disappointed because I expect they can be more sanitize to prepare the stuff in the kitchen,please take my comment like something positive and no offenses to anyone just want to share...

I Googled Mexican food near me to grab a quick bite and Homemade Taqueria came up with 4.7 star with 238 reviews. I decided to give it a try. Waste of money and time. I walked in and went to the counter, the cashier did not say hello at all. I said hello can I please have 2 burritos with just rice, beans, Jalepenos, onions and avacado on one. I paid for the meal I even entered a tip then sat down and waited for the food. I received the smallest burritos from any Mexican restaurant ever (as others has mentioned below. I should have read more comments first) THE FOOD WAS BLAN.. NO FLAVOR AT ALL.. In addition, I received lettuce in both burritos that I didn't ask for. When they brought the burritos they brought no napkins nothing. I got up got the napkins myself. Finished eating and walked out the door pass THREE employees none of which said good night.
