Gino's Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Gino's is old school for me. Haven't ordered from here in a good few years; always picked up. However, I decided to give them a delivery try through a free delivery promo from grubhub+. BTW, I noticed I was charged some $2 fee, but... Okay, I placed the order at 3:00, requesting it be delivered at 5:30. Their info said 80-90 minutes delivery time & text from them said 5:30-5:40. I expected a longer wait for Christmas Eve. However, food did not arrive until after 7! I called restaurant at 6:18 to ask about approx delay time. Very cheerful young man answered & assured me not to worry, that I will definitely get my food. Told me they were supposed to close at 6. Finally at around 7:40, a very nice young man arrived, apologizing several times! Well, it was worth wait. I wasn't disappointed. Food was surprisingly still hot, packed nicely & very tasty. Pizza was a slightly overdone on bottom, but still very tasty! You could taste the basil in the sauce. The calamari was super hot (heatwise) & arrabiata sauce was spot on! Antipasta Salad was also very freah; even though my request of putting the olives & cucumbers on the side wasn't done. So my husband picked out his olives & dumped them into my salad. I ate the cucumbers with no issue. All in all, I would definitely buy from Gino's again. Just to see true/normal...

I recently revisited Gino’s on Friday 06/30/25 and dined in for dinner. The food as usual did not disappoint!

Gino’s is another one of my favorite local eats here in Baldwin. For many years I’ve dined in, had take out & countless deliveries. The food is tasty, fresh and hits the spot!

The Grandma slice, magherita, salad slice, veggie slice & white pizza are among my favorites to get from this joint. They make an amazing shrimp oreganata & an exceptional garlic & oil pasta. Their stuffed garlic knots are another fave of mine. Tonight I ordered a grandma slice, cheese calzone, chicken parm, side Cesar salad, fried shrimp, shrimp oreganata & a grilled chicken Sammy w/ fries.

Yes, I was a happy girl ! That said, a few times they did mess up my order but to their credit, they made good on it by redelivering the right items.

The staff is ever so friendly, helpful & professional. A lovely place to grab a meal. Cosy place in the back & booths also if you choose to dine in. I highly recommend this joint to satisfy your cravings!

Gino’s will continue to be one of my fave local pizza joints here in Baldwin, NY! I highly recommend everyone to check them out whenever you’re in this neck of the woods! They will not disappoint!

Update: gender neutral bathroom as well as handicap...

6 mos ago we would've given them 4.5 or 5, been our pizza place every week since we moved to Baldwin harbor 7 yrs ago. But lately, last half dozen times or so, we have been dissatisfied with either the service or product. Quality control seems to be really slipping and not sure why, wish it wasn't the case. 2x we called to tell them how we felt after they messed up our delivery orders, because people in the service industry need to know when they're not up to snuff & the response was unapologetic, disappointing. Took my brother in law & his wife there to dine in recently, sat at table for 15 mins while staff buzzed past us going back & forth to the counter, no one came to take our order or even bring water. Told my family that this was "our local place" and we ended up walking out & getting indian from across the street instead. So embarrassing! As we walked out girl at the counter thanked us for dining at ginos which felt like a final kick in the butt. Not sure if they're just too busy at the front to know what's going on in the back or what but sadly we have been going to a place in Freeport now for pizza. Sorry ginos, wanted to be loyal to you, just wish you had been good enough...
