Greek City Grill — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Where do I begin,

When my husband and I first walked in we were greeted by the hostess/waitress who was very accommodating and welcoming.

We started with an order of zucchini chips the spinach pie, and the octopus appetizer. The zucchini chips were light and crisp! They were actual chips and not greasy like we’ve gotten at other places in the area. The spinach pie was flakey and flavorful just like my mother used to make it! Lastly, the octopus, which was my husband’s favorite was so tender!

As for our main course, I had the chicken souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes and Greek salad. My husband ordered the Moussaka with chicken lemon soup and rice.

The chicken souvlaki was cooked to perfection! It was moist and full of flavor! Our waitress, Anna, told us that the owner and his mother cook everything to order and they did not disappoint! The lemon potatoes had just the right amount of lemon and the Greek salad had loads of feta! The moussaka was creamy and to die for! I am thinking about it now and I just might have another piece since there was enough to feed an army! The chicken lemon soup was made the way I grew up having it and the rice was seasoned just right!

We are so happy we have found this hidden gem in the heart of Garden City South! If you haven’t tried them out definitely give them a go! There food, service, ambiance, cleanliness top the charts!

Not to mention, Anna did tell us they won best Greek restaurant and best gyro on Long Island! We can’t...

Had to post this immediately me and my wife stumbled upon this place just passing by 1 night we gave them a shot tonight I just have to say the food is off the charts totally homemade greek food like u never tasted I've eaten in the best greek restaurant's throughout the years this place is a gem I can't tell u how delicious the food was the pork and chicken souvlaki was unreal so marinated and juicy so flavorful the tziki sauce like nothing u ever tasted the salad was so fresh and crisp we also had the Gigante beans oh my god wait till u taste the sauce its in it's a family run business son father mother and future daughter in law Anna is a doll so professional and friendly made us feel like family even this 1st time we went there she is incredible will accommodate any requests please 🙏 try this restaurant as soon as u can u will definitely not be sorry ps also its immaculate inside very very clean parking on street very good I wish them the best of luck in the future with their scrumptious restaurant!!!!!!! 1 more thing we will definitely be trying all the other items on menu in near future I'm sure everything else will...

Hands down, Greek City Grill is the best Greek food in all of Nassau County. I am of Greek descent so my expectations regarding Greek/Middle Eastern cuisine are very high. The flavors are delicately balanced and incredibly authentic. The portions are enormous, delicious, and very filling! The pork and chicken souvlaki are seasoned to PERFECTION. The lemon potatoes were perfectly crisped and the horiatiki was so fresh! Of course to top it off, we had 2 orders of loukoumades (1 order drizzled in honey, walnuts, and cinnamon and the another order drizzled in Nutella). Not exaggerating when I say top 2 loukoumades I’ve ever had IN MY LIFE. My family and I were greeted by the lovely owners and staff. Let me tell you, the service surpassed my expectations. The warmest people you’ll ever meet; made us feel like we were family. I literally felt like I was eating at a Greek Taverna in Greece.
