The best place between, Elmont, West Hempstead, Franklin Square ,New Hyde Park , Bell Rose and Hempstead. Great food, from breakfast to lunch and dinner , fresh cofee, fast service, staff very friendly, fresh food all day long, superb empanadas, cheese is my fave, fresh salads , soups , mouth watering bbq ribs,the roasted ,chicken is so delicious, Tacos, hamburguers, and the house specialty dominican dishes such as mofongo,mangu, tostones, maduros,sopa de pata , chivo guisao, choices of rice,beans great selection of drinks such as passion fruit, coconut water, sodas and tea, free sharp and fast delivery, yummy desserts like rice pudding, très léchés Parking for at least 25 cars. I have been at Higuey twice and had delivery once, as a Dominican native I know our food and how delicious it is if prepare the correctly and this flavors fall a bit short to the real deal, there are 2 Dominican restaurants in my area and sadly I have to drive to Queens to get something more satisfying, the restaurant is Clean but a bit sad, was any music playing? we are from the Caribbean and music is part of our meal.. I don't remember nothing jumps at you that makes you feel welcome and cozy, one side of the restaurant is not functioning and it give the place that unfinished look. This place has potential and room to improve in there recipes and overall look. I will give raw place one...

My family and I have had a couple different items from Higueys breakfast menu and regular menu. Food is always fresh and very tasty. Considering the quality of the food, the prices are fantastic. I usually like my pernil very salty, Higueys version of pernil is not very salty but it tastes perfect. I now prefer my pernil this way, so Higueys is teaching me how to eat right. As for breakfast, they set the bar. I wish other restaurants would follow suit, but I'm perfectly happy ordering only from Higueys...
