Olivetto Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Been going here for years. Never a problem. Tonight get 2 heroes to go, 1 a shrimp parm. Get home the shrimp parm literally had cleaning fluid mixed in. Probably spilt. The party eating it spits it out. I smell it can’t smell. Take a bite and it’s disgusting. Call up restaurant tell them at first I say just make another one. It’s late she’s hungry. While driving there she texts and said forget the other sandwich. I get to restaurant and tell them. Counter person very nice I think the manager comes over I tell him he smells it I said you have to take a bite. He says he will send to back to investigate further. I guess they have a lab. He says we can’t refund on card. Never heard that before. Then he says credit for next time I said ok. He says 25 good I said absolutely not. You put poisin in the food. I drove back and forth twice He says that’s double. Really I paid 34.68 for 2 sandwiches. He says what do you expect a hundred bucks . I said forget it and walked out. Sorry but never again. ...

I have to say food was very good. But the service was terrible. They are racist. So Hispanic and Blacks beware. I went to have dinner with my 3 grandkids and my in law. Asked for a table, mind you no one there. The hostesses looked at me like a had 3 heads. So I ended up eating at the pizzeria area. Everything was fine until one employee got upset because in law requested an item and he says you should have been seated on the other side. Well needless to say that got my goat. Asked for manager and after 10 minutes he stated they had reservations and that's why we were not seated but when we finished there were no other customers. Also made comment about me making a fuss in front of grandkids but manager was really rude as were the hostesses and other server who actually was a delivery guy. If you want to spend money in a restaurant that treat customers so rudely be my guest and BTW the other Hispanic servers should be ashamed on how a fellow Hispanic was treated....

The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The service is also excellent, but the owner adds an automated gratuity on your bill. I normally tip 25%, but if the service sucks, I leave less. I prefer tipping in cash, but they add it to the check so the server gets screwed and has to pay tax on that money. I'm not even sure the owner gives the full tip to the server.

Horrible business practice to force a customer to leave a gratuity. Gratuity is a gift from a customer to a server for quality services! Servers need incentive to perform and guaranteed tips remove that incentive.

The owner should stop this ridiculous practice, or I'll stop...
