So last year I was doing job applications and I came across a job vacancy at the Oceanside Branch. They needed a batista.
I went in and spoke to an employee who confirm they had a vacancy. When I actually walked in and I introduced myself to the manager, now it became we don't have any vacancy. Being African American I felt slighted and discriminated upon.
So I saw another vacancy for the Island park branch. I called there spoke to someone and distinctly asked if they were diversifed and was told yes.
This caucasion manager interviewed me. It was an intense interview. At one point I thought I was being interviewed for a CEO position at a fortune 500 company.
This manager was asking me all types of questions giving me different scenarios. At one point I kinda felt she wanted me to fail the interview.
After the 5th question this manager should have realised at 54 years old, in this business, I must have known how to act on a job.
The interview lasted for about 45 minutes and after each question the manager said excellent good answer.
So to my surprise when I didn't get the job I was confused. The manager after the interview, asked me what happen to me when I tried to get a job at the oceanside Starbucks.
So apparently when I asked the person who picked up the phone if they were diversified she told the manager.
I told her that I saw there was a vacancy online and when I went in the manager told me there was no vacancy.
She then proceeded to tell me.not because I saw a vancy online means there is actually a vacancy. She then say to me take this story for example. They have that I have a vacancy but I don't.
I was confused because if they weren't no vacancy why did this woman let me get dressed and came out to the cold just to interview me for almost an hour to tell me they had no vacancy.
It's obvious I wasn't ...
Read moreHello, My name is Julie. I have been meaning to do this for awhile and I apologize for not getting around to it sooner. I am a Long Beach native, however the new Starbucks in my town is still working hard to figure out the heavy volume of customers. In the meantime, I have been going to the Island Park Starbucks. It is super close and convenient. My husband and I always do mobile orders for the most part. I have to say the people working at this Starbucks are some of the nicest and MOST hard working young people. My mother recently passed a few years ago and I have been dealing with a lot. The very fact that I get to start my day with this staff has boosted my spirits tremendously. It just goes to show a small act of kindness goes along way. I wish I knew all their names, but one in particular that is always SUPER kind to me is a man named John. Please, whoever the owner is and is reading this, your staff deserves a raise. As a recent worker in the restaurant industry I know how effective and important customer reviews are. Please take this one seriously. Thank you...

I pulled up tell them I placed an order on the app and then waited behind two cars. My order said ready around 6:37pm. By the time I got up to the window it was about 6:41. This young girl with dark hair who i never saw before withheld my coffee as she told me "next time you might wanna give us like 5 minutes so you don't have to wait". I was so confused? It said my coffee was ready and I was to be waiting behind two cars anyway. As soon as I got to the window my coffee was ready so I didn't see...
