Sweet & Salty Ride Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

It was a long day and I needed a cake quickly for my anniversary. Luckily this spot was open and near the Long Island Railroad, that’s big plus on location, it was only a 5-minute drive from Merrick station.

They have only been open a month, but they been making cakes for years, you can feel they know their trade. Their collection is well displayed with various choices, from cakes, pies, cupcakes, cookies and assorted treats. Looking forward to trying their coffee. They also have ample room for those busy days.

They are still decorating the store so I’m curious to see how they dress up the place. It’s extra special when baked goods not only looks delicious but also taste delicious, and they meet both with my highest praise. I mean, look at the cross section of that cake!

Another plus are their hours, they seem to stay open a bit longer than most bakeries around the area, the number of times that I wanted to get a box of treat for someone but can’t because everything is closed by 5pm is a big help.

I’ve only had one interaction with the staff so far, she was cheerful and incredibly helpful. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for, but she guided me through the options, helped me find what I needed, and had me out the door in record time.

Tania pours her heart into every creation. Her attention to detail and creativity shine through in everything she makes, from beautifully designed cakes to the most delectable cupcakes and cake pops.

I’ve had the pleasure of having Sweet and Salty Bakery cater my events, and every single time, I’ve been blown away. The desserts are not only visually stunning but also absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced flavors that keep you coming back for more. Tania truly cares about her customers and goes above and beyond to bring their vision to life.

Whether you need a cake for a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to something sweet, Sweet and Salty Bakery is the best choice. They have been apart of all my family’s events and really have made our sweet dreams come true....

I was excited to try this place with all the positive reviews but I was very disappointed. I ordered the speciality cupcakes, single caramel cake, and a larger black and white cake for a birthday. Let me start with the cupcakes. My 5, 10, and even 17 year old daughter couldn’t get past 2 bites and refused to finish the cupcakes. The single caramel cake lacked flavor. Lastly the larger black and white mouse cake. There was no flavor, the only edible part was the chocolate mousse. The cream lacked sweetness, the cake was very dry, and nobody went for seconds at this party. The young girl behind the counter was also no help. She knew nothing about the cakes and treats. Anytime I asked her what flavor each item was she could not give me the answer and said I could find out if you want and then proceeded to stare at me.
