Sweet Spot Cafe Long Island — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Ok, I'll start by saying the young ladies working there were very sweet and truly tried to be helpful... but fell really short. They really didn't know what they were doing with the coffee, and I chalk that up to bad training - again, they were very nice. The iced tea isn't regular iced tea. They're making it on the spot with a tea bag (interesting variety) and then icing it... it was luke warm. Took quite some time to make the second coffee, and the first didn't have milk in it (that could've been my fault as I may not have asked for it). The coffees were lackluster at best, as was the iced tea. We got a couple of treats as well - the Smores Brownie was ok, nothing special, as was the Rainbow Cookie. Both items were pricier than what I felt was fair... but location probably dictates the cost. Honestly, I wouldn't have cared if the coffee was good - but it was just a fail. The place itself was cute, fun seating area outdoors as well as small tables inside. Literally only a couple of parking spots, 2 in the back and then street parking. I'd personally pass on returning, but if you're looking for a cute place to visit for a scoop of ice cream, Gelato or soda pop in a bottle - feel free to give it a whirl... a long as it's a simple order, you...

Hands down the BEST desserts in the area! A MUST TRY! I guarantee it will too hit your SWEETEST SPOT! Had a great ice cream and cold brew coffee in a hot day. However at checking out I found I involuntarily paid tips--like, the default is 15% and I do not have a chance to choose and directly charged to my Apple Pay. I'd consider tipping normally but without asking up front is a bit wrong to me.
